looking at their toughest 5 fights froch: prime pascal, injured eye kessler, prime undefeated ward, faded abraham, fading taylor Calzaghe: prime undefeated Lacy, Prime undefeated Kessler, Prime...ish(arguably) Hopkins, fading Eubank, fading Jones jr. still think Calzaghe, but sure enough Froch will pass him within a couple more fights. However head to head Calzaghe far too fast for froch. froch's speed and footwork is pathetic.
Even if it wasn't Froch(and it clearly is) I'd still say him because a couple of Calzaghe fans are becoming right pains in the tits and I want to annoy them.
Overall clearly Calzaghe Froch has no wins over prime fighters with resumes better than Woodhall, Reid, Mitchell, Kessler, Eubank, Lacy. Froch beat Reid when very faded. Then Calzaghe has other victims with good resumes say better than Dirrells in Mkertchyan, Veit, Brewer etc plus all the other top 10 SMWs he beat. On the flip side Froch has had it very tough in how he has been the away fighter so many times Look at their wins though Pascal not as a good a win as Woodhall Dirrell not as good a win as Veit 2 Abraham not as good a win as Reid Johnson not as good a win as Bika at SMW at that time Bute not as good a win as Mitchell Then Calzaghe has Kessler and Eubank who is an even bigger win, plus Brewer. In fact except for Bika on that list for Calzaghe, all the rest for Calzaghe were SMW champs, compared for just one for Froch
Joe Calzage cocaine joey is vastly overrated and never really left home to fight anyone good. More of a paper champion and a farce. Joe was not very good.
Froch ..Yes Calzaghe has a win over Kessler and Hopkins but that over 10 yrs to make while Froch is already catching up in under 3 yrs !
You left out Bute who is an obvious equal for Lacy. Even for those who have voted Calzaghe, who would doubt that Froch will end up having much tougher opposition than Calzaghe is a year or two?
Who are the prime fighters that Froch fought? Abraham, Bute and Ward. He lost to Ward. Calzaghe was also a unified champion at age 34, Froch is almost 35 and has never unified.
What you mean to say is that Calzaghe took 11 years before he attempted to unify after becoming a title holder (admittedly he did have the weakest title by far, so no wonder noone was interested in him, in the same way noone cares about Povetkins title or the IBU title today). Froch started facing the other champions within months of winning a major world title. And lets be fair, if Kessler had never agreed to come to Britain, Joe would never have unified - he not dare to face Kessler anywhere else, factoid.
