Brett Rogers signs with Bellator

Champion is Cole Konrad. Pretty one-dimensional wrestler but has more than enough to beat Rogers.

I'm amazed someone like Premier or BoxNation hasn't snapped them up - the format is perfect content for such a channel.

 

Just checked, he's 35 in August. Yeah, gave Nog a very tough fight on the mat, only lost due to Nog attempting more from the bottom. You could argue in that fight Ricco had almost as good a resume going in, looking at it with hindsight. Both coming off losses, Ricco could have been the number 2 HW in the world if he had won

I think they could do ok on something like ITV 2 personally, depending how much it would cost them. Remember seeing Struve for the 1st time on that channel, iirc

 

He said he was open to it when he started the channel.

Personally if they were cheap I'd have added ROH and Bellator to BoxNation as a way of bringing in some pro-wrestling and MMA fans. Plus its regular content with good production values.

 

If it was in the UFC he'd have taken it imo, but PRIDE rules score on attempts to finish the fight rather than control as you know. Ricco was unlucky though, just wasnt active enough. Id have to watch it again, but spent most of his time defending triangles and such. Ricco was content to pin him to the mat and ride the clock. his gnp wasnt really effective

 

Yeah Cole Konrad would beat him pretty easily I think, but he probably has enough to beat most other Bellator heavies, maybe Ivanov would beat him depending on how he recovers from the stabbing.

 

Brett just isn't very good. He had a competitive fight with Warpath a couple fights back, which is just something that cannot happen if you want to be a top HW, and he couldn't get by Eddie Sanchez, who is far from a spectacular fighter. Konrad would very, very easily beat him.

 

Brett was VERY close to being the first guy to give Fedor his first loss. Old Fedor let that guy break his nose, then sit his 300lb frame on top of him and punch his face. The fact he got out of that was a miracle

Sadly for Brett, they put him in with the Manny Pacquiao of heavyweights in his next fight. And so Supereem effortlessly tossed this 300lb man to the canvas

Rodgers would have made an awesome acquisition for UFC. Imagine these fights

Rogers has good knock out power and is a good acquisition.

 

No, he wasn't.

Rogers did bust Fedor's nose, and managed to make the fight competitive. Rogers was never close to finishing Fedor, and wasn't on the verge of winning a decision. The fight was barely into the 2nd round when Fedor knocked him out.

 

I think making it into the second rd is worth a bit of praise

 

Falsehood. He had him in the full mount and landed a few smashes to his face. Fedor did amazing to escape
