Just watched Leonard vs Britton and Welsh. Come on be real. Floyd is MUCH too technical and much too fast for him.

It wouldn't even be fair to put Benny Leonard and Floyd in the same ring. Come on. Be real please.

Like are you kidding me? I watched some of his fights. Sure he had some good combinations but better than Floyd? I think not.

Theres what 80 or so years difference between both fighters primes.

    Not comparable in my opinion.

Although resume wise i give the edge to Leonard.

*****'s have to make these threads constantly because their idol refuses to fight the best of his own era in their prime.

So he has to be the "king of mythical victories" so to speak over the likes of Duran, Benny Leonard, SRL etc.

Floyd will spank this legend & that legend?

May be if he spanked a prime Mosley, these troll threads would have some validity...

    He is undefeated?

So was Rocky & at 49-0 with 88% KO's approximately.

Unlike Floyd, Rocky fought the best comp available to him & ducked no one.

But I haven't seen many suggesting he was the best of all time even at HW let alone in all of Boxing.

Floyd would have ducked Benny Leonard just as he would have ducked Duran. He ain't called Maynever & Chicken Floyd for nothing.

I don't see him fighting any of the guys like SRL, Duran, SRR, Hearns, Benny Leonard. He will always find some excuse & *****'s will lap it up or he will wait for them to hit age 38 and then fight them.

The footage of Benny Leonard is not the best, judging by his record tho he was greater at LW than fmj was at any weight.

Maybe we should compare floyd to the great LWs with better footage, guys like Duran & Whitaker... he doesn`t look better than them IMO.

I do think Floyd would beat Benny Leonard, although it doesn't mean much to hold that belief. His 43-0 run is great and he's beaten a lot of highly rated opposition in achieving it, which I've even detailed in the past. I'd consider Duran's 72-1 and Robinson's 128-1 to be vastly superior however due not only to the fact of their own skill levels and abilities, but the opposition faced and activity. Also consider that they avenged those lone defeats twice and four times over, respectively.

If Benny Leonard had the modern training/ scientific advances that Floyd enjoyed he would not be the same man you saw in that footage likewise if Floyd came up in the early 1900's and had his prime in the 1920's he would not be the same fighter he is right now and would look much more similar to the footy you've seen of Leonard. They're not comparable, all you can compare is how they fare in their own eras and based on that there is no doubt Leonard ranks much higher and this is coming from a guy known on this forum for my support of Mayweather.

If they both came up int he same era I'd pick Leonard all day, he had the fight inside him. Both are a couple of most natural boxers ever to grace the sport and a couple of my all time faves.

Color me surprised. (you can, i'm white)

No, good post though. It's interesting because not even very many people in the Classic forum picked Benny to beat Floyd when this came up before.
