I agree with this assessment..it's worth considering this comparison to Chuvalo.

Jimmy Jeff was great as a big, strong man with good punching power, but the 1900 version of Jeff would NOT do well with a middle 1960s Ali in a 20 X 20 ring and using 10 oz. boxing gloves with an adequate mouthpiece... Ali would sharp-shoot and slice and dice Jeff to pieces enroute to a 10th round TKO.....

So Fitz didn't load his gloves against Jeffries in their second fight? That's just a myth? Do you recall where you read about this?

Chuvalo looks better as a pressure fighter on film than Jeffries does and Chuvalo fought far better men

    :huh
I keep asking you to post all my mistakes, you have yet to do so.

    Funny that.:huh

Cooper was stopped 5 times before Ali stopped him? Yes he was, he was kod by Folley, and Ingo, and stopped by a body shot from Joe Bygraves the other 2 stoppages were caused by eye injuries. What exactly is your point regarding this? Cooper was 185.5lbs ,yes so what? How much did the average Jeffries challenger weigh? Again what is your point? Cooper was 29 when he first fought Ali, he had fought just 3 months earlier, koing Dick Richardson in defence of his British Commonwealth, and Empire titles.
Fitz was 39 and had been retired for 2 years, he was conceding 13 years , and 47lbs, to Jeffries. SPOT THE DIFFERENCE ?

I've posted a ringside report of the Jeffries Fitz fight that states emphatically, that Jeffries ," carefully examined Fitz's hand wraps in the ring , just prior to the fight, and passed them without comment."

You keep saying Choynski , weighing around the super middleweight limit kod Johnson , yes he did , you conveniently don't mention that Johnson was around that weight himself at the time.
Can you tell me what relevance Jack Johnson has to this discusssion anyway ?

Everyone who has taken the trouble to find out ,knows that the torn glove of Ali did not give Ali more than a few seconds of extra time its been posted dozens of times, its like all the other bull**** you post a myth. As usual, you have provided no proof to the contrary so you have no horse in this race. Just an agenda driven desire to pump up your hero Jeffries.

I have a good memory. I remember you calling Sam Langford " Sang Froid", substituting "venison" for version, supper for super, and your trademark which you've repeated here " meet for met .

I remember you stating Burns had jaundice when he fought Johnson.

    That Burns broke Johnson's ribs.

The Johnson v Battling Johnson fight was scheduled for 20 rds.

    Sam Langford knocked Johnson down.

That's 4 lies you kept repeating, and , when asked countless times for a primary source ignored the requests.

I'll remember every **** up ,spelling howler , unsubstantiated statement, and blatant lie ,you make on this site and I promise you faithfully ,I will dog you all the time you remain a member. Mendoza/Dr Z .
YOU SIR ,ARE A LYING ****.

Has there been a sharper punching heavyweight than Ali? His fists were as destructive to features as Shavers' were to brain cells.

He carves Jeffries face to ribbons before Jeffries slows him down enough to be effective. Once his face is a gruesome mask, and he can't see shots coming, he'll get stopped by accumulation.

Going with jeff. people laugh at his chances but look at Frazier and what he did. and Joe is no Jim Jefries. A prime Ali lasts untilthe final bell but Jeff is too much for him

please. Ali had trouble stopping Ron Lyle and Chuck Wepner. hit Wepner all nite ling. I said "what's keeping him?'

Like norton said "Ali's not a devestating puncher and doesnt follow thru with his punches. basically an arm puncher"

Go to go with Jeffries. he's more rougher

over 15 rounds- ali by shutout or cuts stoppage.

unlimited rounds, tiny gloves, only stopped by ko- jeffries by knockout,

both men had styles for completely different eras and a very different sport and ruleset.

I'm fairly certain Jeffries would have collapsed from blood loss before this happens.
Jeffries doesn't win under any circumstances that would pass for a boxing match.
