Floyd is one of the greatest boxers to have ever graced the sport. His defensive style is considered to be the greatest of all time which many would find hard to disagree with, considering the fact that hes still undefeated after 43 fights and never knocked down in his career. His sharp reflexes and super fast punches are somewhat bedazzling to any ordinary human being. Despite his impressive attributes the main aspect that allows him to*win*all the time is his self belief and that no matter what happens he always believes that he will win. Floyd has given the impression that he fights for one thing, which is that of MONEY.
I used to think that Mayweather only fought for the money...but I am rethinking that now. Mayweather looked damned-good against Cotto.
No fighter fights only for money,he is just a good business man,and is why he is one of the top paid athletes in any sport.. And for arguments sake, even if he did wouldn't you fight for 25-30 million a fight cmon now.. Exception is a fighter who is way past prime, who will fight for money, not prime fighters soley for money, there has to be dedication most of the time..
So what exactly is the point of PRIZEfighting? Prizes. I think we have another genius in our midst. Any man getting into that ring does it for something more than money. There are a ton of easier ways to make a buck. You have to be cut from a different cloth. Is this "Bad Thread" day?
I don't think he only fights for the money but i do think its his nr1 priority. If he fought for legacy hed be more risk taking in picking fights and more active. Get the feeling hes about getting rich first and any legacy that is gained by that is a nice bonus.
more than most yes. to everyone who answered sarcastically. Not all fighters fight just for money. Its the main reason why fighters fight. but they also fight for recognition, pride, to be remembered, to be the best
