These kinda fighters rely on power punches even leading in so the best weapon against them is to lead with accurate punches that take their tool progressevily. A range finder is not just a pawing left jab, most of the power comes from the shoulder and punching muscles attached to it like ALL OPINION MAKERS should know so I wouldn't be surprised that someone would use it as an offensive weapon rather than a defensive or a range finder to set up a power punch. Even b'cause you don't want to engage with a slugger if you are not a slugger yourself... i saw dawson vs Adamek but I didn't see and could never have the patience to see Vitali vs Adamek.
