Word on the street is King is pushing for Golota-Chagaev since Chagaev is apparently dead-set on another "tune-up" before defending his mandatory vs. Valuev and it is unlikely Valuev would be ready and a fight scheduled prior to the April 18, 2008 deadline to defend, more likely is an extension which would grant Chagaev a defense in May, and then force him to defend vs. Valuev (who may also take a tune-up) in September 2008.

DKP has filed an offical protest on behalf of all DKP rated fighters in the WBA, but apparently is willing to let Chagaev have his tune-up against a DKP rated fighter, but is vehemently opposing allowing Luan Krasniqi an underserved title shot....

Truth is, Golota-Chagaev would sell decently in Europe.

Maybe after this, Chagaev can go after Tua, Oliver McCall, and call out Lennox Lewis.

Then he can wake up and realize it's ****ing 2008, not 1998.

Good for Chagaev - still early in his career, Golota is well known and easily beaten.

Maybe Golota can get knocked out again and retire for good...if not, then get a win and fight Klitschko for BIG DOLLARS in Germany. Who knows what is to happen, obviously King is up to his same old boxing politricks...

Jesus Christ, Golota will be getting title shots forever if he wants them.

Atleast its a better option than Krasniqi but that aint saying much.

Way to go Chagaev:thumbsup , maybe if this falls through he'll look defend against Bowe.

Sounds exactly like Judah minus the winning a big one on occasion.

He didnt deserve the Chris Byrd fight however he DID deserve the Ruiz and Brewsters fights.

Actually looking back at his record i would say he has only 2 undserving title shots. The first would be Lewis after the Bowe meltdowns ut a case could be made for actually winning but losing those fights.

The other would be against Chris Byrd.He wasnt supposed to stand a chance yet some had him winning in a fight that went to a draw.At this point he deserved to be up there with the heavies.Byrd refused a rematch so he got a SHOT HE DESERVED against Ruiz and again some had him winning in 12 round loss.Ruiz wasnt going to rematch him so King put him in against Brewster and we all know what happened.

jesus christ! who's this guy gonna fight next?!? I here Julius Long is available....why not give Calloway a rubber match :-(

i hope Golota ends this paper champ. i despise don king but at least Golota is colorful and brings the "lunatic" factor :good

it would be nice to see him win a belt after all he's been through. golota is at least a better opponent than hasbeen krasniqi who was stopped by tony thompson's feather dusters :yep

I'd much rather see Golota take on Wlad.

    AG KO 2.

Wouldn't it be almost surreal if Chag took Golota as a stay busy fight waiting for Valuev, and Golota BEAT him?

Personally, I think Chag and Kohl ought to grow some BALLS and set up a second unifying fight with Wladimir, but..........I guess we can't ALL have balls..

SKelton, then Krasniqi was considered, now GOlota is considered............................Chag is really taking on some risks, ain't he?

(I think Golota would probably stand a good chance to beat Chag, to be honest)

I think you hit the nail on the head, Heavy. Right now, its all about balls. Golota has 'em...with everyone else, its very questionable.

And Wlad, for such a big man, may have the most microscopic gonads of all.

Even Oleg would rock his world.

BTW, I saw your post about Wlad having to get back into being the KO monster he was. Thats easy against a tiny Chris Byrd or soft Calvin Brock, or clueless Austin or washed up & half blind Brewster.

    Golota KO 2.
