Eddie Ndukwu did defend the Commonweath FW Title with a championship distance win over Kotey. This peek-a-boo stylist Nigerian was a decorated amateur who started out 14-0-0 against mostly nondescript opposition aside from Kotey, but then ran afoul of a peak Wilfredo Gomez and then Pat Ford to squelch his career.

Joseph Nsubuga was, like Boza Edwards, an escapee from Amin's Uganda. Had a good amateur career, and a very promising start to his professional career. No victims the prominence of Kotey, but a vastly superior combined won-loss record among his opponents. Unfortunately, Stoneface ran into Stonehands, very pissed off in the aftermath of his embarrassing performance against Zeferino Gonzales following SRL KO1 Price. Nsubuga produced some good moments with uppercut counters in a match on youtube, but El Cholo was too much. (Good thing though Duran wasn't in the kind of dismal shape he was for Zef however.)

Makathini, by the way, didn't just defeat Griff, but Curtis Cokes, Dynamite Douglas, Charlie Weir and Gary Guiden. (RC knows this of course, but you newer posters and younger fans ought to be aware Tap Tap was more than just a cute nickname. Cokes, like Griff, is an IBHOFer.)

    Africa, has 'three regions'.

    A) Northern Africa = Western Sahara, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and Egypt

    B) Main Continent = General African Nations

    C) South Africa

South Africa,,,,,,,,A country of its own, no way near the other 'main continent countries'.

    C'mon,,,,,,,you can't be that stupid........:patsch

How would you rank the "main" continent countries? Nigeria and everyone else? Either South Africa is an African country or it is not. Since geographically, it very much is African (thus its name), I take it to be included.

    I know, it's a real stretch.

Yeah. Come to think of it I'm surprised the thread got this far without someone mentioning him. He was a bit single-moded sometimes but a nightmare if you couldn't back him up and disrupt his momentum like Moon did. Why'd he waste so much time in Spain between losing to Moon and icing Sahaprom?

I always thought it be known as 'Central Africa' geographical wise.

I never equated Morocco, Kenya and South Africa together.

Though those countries are on the same continent, never could quite
    put them together.

    Horrifically bad management I imagine.

I thought Tapia shut him down superbly, even if Konadu also seemed off. His performance in the 2nd Moon fight was totally bizarre as well. Just took his beating like a man, when he probably could've done more. At the beginning of the 3rd round (I think) he just goes straight back to the corner  Moon obliges him and pounds him further, while Yaw just stands there :huh

If anything it's north Africa that should not b considered Africa as it has a totally different culture , religion , language makeups and ethnicity than d rest of Africa . However , nothing European in it and wine is quite prohibited there also , so IDK where it came from . South Africa is almost as African as Uganda , except it has a much more pronounced white minority in it . And what Roman culture is there in North Africa ?

And that can be said about any continent......
Italy is totally different than Finland. A greek is totally different than a swedish person in the things you mentioned Frank....but If we were discussing European fighters any italian or finnish or greek would fit the category......
A south african person is obviously african and fit the category of the thread.......

I mention Phillip Holiday as one of my favorite African fighters.....not one of the best, we had many better than him. But he was nice to watch.

I implied that South Africa should b considered Africa but d North should not .
And Greeks r really mediteranean and not European in many senses , 1 could say it's y they will b out of d EU , they don't fit there financially because they r so different . Paying debts is not a part of their nature .
Neither is paying taxes and neither is working :yep .

    Speaking of Central Africa,,,,

Have we got any top fighters out of the South Atlantic side.

Most of these other small Atlantic Ocean coast-line countries were not big into 'Professional Boxing'.

    Cape Verde (Island Nation)
    Senegal
    The Gambia
    Guinea
    Sierra Leone
    Liberia
    Togo
    Benin

Both Ghana and the Ivory Coast have been listed, as those nations loved 'Professional Boxing'.
