I haven't boxed. (Which makes my username pretty dumb in hindsight, but hey, I made it years ago, and it was actually a reference to 'Hajime no Ippo'.) I'm nowhere near tough enough to get into the ring. I have a healthy respect for fighters, though -- forget the athletic qualities and skill you need to succeed, you must also need a ton of bravery, toughness and grit. You can actually be beaten to death in the ring -- it's crazy when you consider the risks that guys take each time they get in there. That's what makes it even more annoying when you have guys on this forum hoping for a 'brutal knockout' or laughing at a fighter's chin.

its not about whether you get your ass handed to you or not, its about showing up with a smile the next day ready to do it all again.

we've all taken our lumps learning.

    props

You right. . . I think I earned everybody's respect in the gym, definitely not because I'm any kind of beast, or prodigy, but because I'm willing to listen to everything I'm told, and actually try to get better. . .

I wish I started when I was younger, because I truly realize how this sport takes years, and years of hard work EVEN for the most naturally gifted of athletes. . . For the average athlete, it takes decades. . .

Been boxing for a few years; have to take frequent breaks because of school, but I'm about to get back into it.

Definitely. You realise just how hard small things are, like keeping yourself in guard for 36 minutes, let alone throwing a single punch. I can't be the only one who's arms get ****ing achy when watching fights, bringing back bad memories of twatting the **** out of my own arms in an attempt keep going on the pads

  11. I'll knock your fuking ass out son.

I fought and killed hyenas when I was stuck in Africa at the tender age of 15.

If you think I'm scared of any 'pro boxer' after killing hyenas with my bare ****ing hands. You out of your mind.

I don't have to respect ****. You think 'respect' got me out of the Seregenti alive?

It didn't. Raw rage and a killer instinct did. I'll literally rip the ****ing heart out of any boxer alive. I was forced to live off baboo feces for 4 weeks, their training mean **** to me. They don't know what pain is. Pain is drinking a male lions's **** just to avoid death by thirst

Boxed for about 8 years, basically how I became a fan of boxing. I downloaded fights to try learn from it.

Never followed a sport I don't do or play.
