Tyson to Produce, Consult and Write for the Film The 2005 Academy Award winner for Best Actor (Ray), Jamie Foxx, will produce and star as Mike Tyson in an autobiographical movie about former heavyweight champion. "Jamie Foxx and I will be working together. He will play me in the film about my life. We have already had several discussions about it," Tyson said. Tyson also discussed being sober for the first time in a long time. After being and iconic international figure, Mike Tysons life has triumphant but also very tragic. From domestic assaults, a **** conviction, multiple divorces, drug addiction and arrests, in the ring letdowns and fiascos, filing for bankruptcy after making almost $300 million dollars; the autobiographical film can go in many directions. You must not know who he is, he's a bowed up ******* maybe not as thick as tyson but over 200 pounds easily
Foxx would be an excellent choice to play Mike Tyson. Should be interesting to see how this turns out. Hopefully it will get the star treatment like Cinderella Man, Million Dollar Baby, and Ali have in recent years.
I hope Foxx can get Tyson's voice down right instead of the lame imperosnations we've come to hear on SNL
It still amuses me how someone established as a mediocre comedian like Jamie Foxx has somehow turned their image around 180 and earned nearly ubiquitous acclaim and credibility as both a dramatic actor and a musician. Based on not a whole heck of a lot, if you ask me. Also, any movie about Tyson promises hilarity.
Who wins in a fight; Michael Jai White or Jamie Fox? I say Michael Jai White knocks Jaime Fox out. As far as the movie goes, Jamie will do a good job, just not as good as Michael Jai White did.
With any luck Tyson can clear all his debts with this and maybe bring out an autobiography at the same time to get himself back in the money again. I don't know much about Jamie Foxx but I remember Will Smith was considered a joke choice to play Ali but he was actually very good in that movie. I'm curious as to how the movie will depict the Holyfield fights though, will Evander be portrayed as a big bad fouling cheat, or will Tyson give them license to tell the truth :think They could probably still get Frank Bruno and Holyfield to play themselves in the movie too, they don't look any different to how they did when they fought him. Not sure who they'll get to play Larry Holmes though. Or poor old Berbick, for that matter.
Insane. What are they gonna do, put him in some Hulk-suit to make him look like Tyson physically. It's nutty.
