dan rafael mentioned it last night on fnf. plus it seems like a logical fight to make if ortiz comes through unscathed with lopez seen as gbp are fairly adamant about canelo on ppv sep 15. i dont think lara, trout, or k9 are big enough names to face him ortiz is

This is a ****ing fight. Winner gets Mayweather next Cinco De Mayweather in a unifier.

    No idea who wins.

Right on. I would enjoy this fight. can see it as a barnburner.

But FFS, GBP needs to cut this **** with canelo. He cannot avoid top contenders in his division simply because GBP deemed him a major star and therefore, can only fight recognizable names.

it's WAAAY too early for canelo to go that route.

He is STILL yet to face a top 5 guy at 154.

Possible because of the size advantage. Canelo is like reverse-pacquiao

Who is the last southpaw you saw Canelo fight against? This is a very intriguing match up. Risky move for GBP if they make it happen.

Is that supposed to mean anything??? I'm just asking. Carlos Baldomir fought Mayweather in what year??? Shane Mosley was washed up since when??? Shane Mosley was old in 2010 so fighting him in 2012 is worth nothing. Those fights were wastes of time. Baldomir lost to Floyd in a display of truly amazing boxing ability. He fought a perfect fight. He didn't go to KO him. He was working on his stats. It was boring but Baldomir was the lineal champion at the time so what's there to say??? You have to respect that. Both of those fighters were inactive for extended periods of time as they were in the twilight of their respective careers, and maybe beyond that point.

I'm cool with the fact that Canelo has eased into 2nd place in the Compubox +/- at +18% second only to Floyd who say his +/- percentage fall to +25 from +30 after the Cotto fight. I think he will carry the sport's biggest PPV dates in the future. I just don't think that he should make his bones by beating on Mosley and Baldomir. He should fight guys at 154 who are making noise. It's too many to name. He should fight Quintana.

Well one thing is certain Ortiz will test his work rate , which for me is very very questionable
