Why have you no vcash if you made the call. Bull**** you guys are idiots. Chincheckers are as shocked by this result as anyone. .
Duran was a blown-up LW fighting at MW against an ATG puncher. That is nothing like the situation we have here. If a guy gets blown out with one or two punches, no matter how great the puncher, he does not have anything approaching a solid Chin. It does not work that way.
If he had a good chin, he'd have gotten up after 2 punches. He was scared of that happening the whole way through the fight and then it happened. Just watch the rest of his career, it wouldn't surprise me if he soon climbs the glass jaw ranks and catches up with the likes of Kirkland, Jones or Khan :rofl:rofl:rofl
I can promise you this. While he hasn't proven to have a Fragile Glass Mandible on the level of the guys you mentioned, he WILL be making an appearance in next month's Rankings. He clearly has one of the worst Chins in Boxing right now.
I lost it all predicting Paulie Malignaggi NOT getting a KO. I was wrong, my chin checking was off. And yes, I thought this fight would go the distance and I was sure going into the tenth that Jones was going to get a boring UD. I am glad I was wrong though as another glass jawed fraud has been exposed to the world. I didn't rate jones going into this fight and now I rate him higher on one list only. The glass jaw list.
Oh I agree Metal. I don't think his chin is that bad yet, but you know how it is. Once they crack, that's it. He will get KO'd again, expect him to avoid every heavy hitter for the rest of his career now.
I think your response proves you have never been to a boxing gym and definitely have no actual ring experience.:rofl shaft, accurate punches can KO guys with very good chins... Don't try so hard kid....:smoke
After 3 rounds i told myself Brooks stiff jab and counter punching would have either of these guys in trouble. Look how bailey handled Jones, credit to jones he was controlling things but not in good fashion. Then look at Brooks fight with Ndou says it all
:rofl:roflatsch Guys with Iron Chins do NOT go down and those with decent beards don't get finished with two flush punches. Glass Jaws Exist in Boxing and your heroes have flaws. It is not up for discussion. End of. Bottomline.
There's a huge difference from a good, Sharp puncher vs a truly heavy handed fighter like Bailey kid. Throw in 8 oz over the normal 10 oz gloves in fights above 140 and we see why they say "all it takes is one punch to change the fight". But I dig your whole deal.....with the "glass jaw" theory... Not as something serious but as pure entertainment....its funny.:yep
News just in - the experts at Eastside Boxing Forums have announced that Mike Jones, who just suffered the first loss of his career, has a glass chin. The board members, noted for their intelligence, made the announcement after they saw Jones, *29, lose by knockout to Randall Bailey, a man who is a noted power-puncher with 37 wins coming by knockout. User GlassJawsExist was quick to start a thread following the match, making the keen observation that all American boxers with the surname*'Jones' have glass jaws. To support his groundbreaking theory, the genius was able to offer one example *- Roy Jones Jr, a future hall of fame fighter. GlassJawsExist awaits his award for boxing journalism. Arranmcl was quick to get involved too, starting a discussion where he submitted the theory that 'Mike Jones has 0 chin', presumably saying that Mike Jones' cheeks join directly to his neck. His discussion found some positive reviews among the esteemed professors of boxing in Eastside's forum, where MetalMandible, who has a professional boxing record of 0-0-0, declared himself a prophet, saying*'I called this WAAAAYY back. Point proven. His Chin is Pure Glass.' Despite Bailey's impressive KO record and his noted punching power, other geniuses at Eastside were quick to declare that Jones chin is A) made of*a large class of materials with highly variable mechanical and optical properties that solidify from the molten state without crystallization, and B) has been shattered.* Not ones to overuse the same clichés over and over again, Eastsiders only used the phrase*glass jaw thirty or so times when describing Jones, sometimes exchanging*glass for*crystal and*chin for*jaw, as though the chin and the jaw are the same thing. I don't want to close out this news story without giving credit to other magnificent boxing pundits who used their entire wealth of boxing knowledge to contribute something new and worth to this subject. Here are some examples of the genius we see on this board time and time again. Knighty -*glass jaw shattered. MetalMandible*-*I told all of you multiple times that he had a Glass Jaw. Fact. GlassJawsExist -*What a disgraceful Glass Jaw Jones has. Pwned by a cab driver.* I'm pretty sure Bailey is a professional athlete with a great punching record, but even if he were a cab driver, I'd be scared of a taxi driver with that kind of punching power. Eastside Boxing, thank you once again for some intellectual, mature and thought-provoking boxing discussion.
