Pac has been on the steady decline since Margarito fight.

I don't think he can turn back time to magically become the fighter he once used to be.

He is 33 now and his style is heavily dependable on physical attributes.

His footwork and combinations aren't what they used to be and he is far less dynamic fighter than he was a couple of years ago.

And you're right he is not the hungry whirlwind anymore.

He still has good handspeed and still packs a good punch.

Despite the fact that Mayweather is also declining his chances of winning the fight against Pac are increasing with every passing year.

Wonder if Floyd knows this too?

I had a dubious pick of Bradley by decision in the other thread...Hell no...I had 10-2 Pacquiao.... Robbery.

Yes, he was horrified by the scoring of the judges,,,,,,but what else can he say.

Money Wise,,,,,,,,this works out perfectly.

Because, if Manny got the 'deserved decision', no one would be asking for a
Pacquiao - Bradley rematch.

90% of the observers had Manny winning,,,,,,,,and Public Opinion is always correct.

 

I havent seen the fight but it sounds like there was no even rounds scored, to minimise the chances of a robbery, even rounds should always be scored.

 

I only saw it on television - which is admittedly not a legitimate way to score the fight - but it looked like Pacquiao won it.
It also seems that most people who were watching at the event had Pacquiao winning too.

Another fix and robbery for the record books, methinks. :good


On another note, I think Pacquiao isn't what he once was either. He's better than Bradley, but he's slipped in his last two or three fights.

the implied probability from the end of round 12 to the decision was that bradley would get the decision 1 time from 33/50 times. after round 4 pac's odds never got above 1.10

pac dropped the pace too early and once bradley had recoverd he relaxed and started countering and this is what allowed bradley to win the later rounds.

saying that it was another bad night for boxing. it will be a long time before i bother with wasting my saturday night for american fights

 

Yes it was a robbery just like the Marquez fight was a robbery. Arum didn't have any big fight for Pacquaio in November other than Mayweather and Marquez who would both reduce his stock. Him getting robbed and avenging his defeat keeps the cash cows money rolling in. Bradley will have a rematch clause in his contract, no doubt about it

He may have faded a bit but it will look vastly exaggerated based on the fact he's no longer facing weight drained left hand focused defensively poor pressure fighters who'll make him look like a million dollars. Put him in with any version of Ricky Hatton and he looks like superman again. I actually thought he looked pretty good last night

 

From a technical standpoint, I think this was one of the best outings I've seen from Pac. Certainly a leap foward from his last fight. But the old intensity was clearly lacking and my guess is that the reason is a decline in motivation rather than physical ability. It felt like he could have been much more aggressive during the last 3-4 rds, but instead he only fought the last minute of every round. He should and could have done more to put the result beyond doubt IMO.

Watched Gomez-Pintor yesterday, though, which was a pretty clear contrast. Gomez having to be carried back to the corner at the end of at least two rds, but still coming out looking to do damage in the next. Really lived up to the saying "leave it all in the ring", just as Pac used to do. Don't think he did last night, or against Marquez.

 

Now that is a bit harsh. At the very, very least one has to give him credit for his destruction of Cotto - even more so after Cotto-PBF.
