It might drive some casual fans away, but no real boxing fans. Sure makes the sport look like trash though. I'll never stop watching boxing but I'm sick of paying PPV fees to see crappy decisions like these. Takes the shine off the fight.
its complete shite right now. its like u dont know what to expect any more, the integrity of the sport is gone. its not real any more. we r now the wwe. thats 1 reason i dont watch wwe because its fake. boxing is now the same thing. im tired of this soap opera. i could care any more if pac wins because its arum who wins really. we r making these cog suckas richer while we suffer. all and all, nobody cares. why should we? fug 'em
You could also say that the only people justifying this horse**** decision are fanatical Floyd acolytes who hate Manny, not boxing fans.
Nah. Unlike Bute - where he was raped in five brutal one-sided rounds - Pacquiao emerged as the clear winner in everyone's eyes (in fact, he put up a pretty decent performance against a tricky guy that's very difficult to look good against). The term "robbery" cemented its place mere seconds after the decision was announced. When people recall this fight, they'll always remember it for the wrong, corrupt decision it was. So, for that reason, I don't think the fans that Pacquiao has helped bring to the sport will be made to run away that easily. Like I said, they know their man still won, and will continue to root for him.
People are quitting on the sport left and right unfortunately. Stuff like this is bad for the public image.
I've watched the fight twice, and the second time I looked for rounds to give to Bradley, still couldn't give him a W.
Hardcore Pacquiao, Mayweather, Klitschko etc., fans are a stain on the sport and their obnoxious attitudes won't be missed when their favourite fighters retire. What I worry about are casual fans being pushed away by all the bull**** within boxing.
Oh, absolutely, there will be some enthusiasm for the rematch but big fights in boxing are nearly over. Chad and Ward, a lot of guys starving to get shots at Floyd at WW and SWW, Canelo. Martinez, and those ageless brothers who rule the HWT Division and that make everybody go to sleep b4 mid-stage- just joking, Klitschko fans but really nobody has a shot against them.
I followed boxing for 30 odd years, lost count of the robberies over the years. I still love a good fight, I just avoid listening to the hype and bs, and use my own judgement. I think this hurts the casual on the surface, but I do belief they damage the real fans as well. Corruption has always been a problem since day one because like horse riding money has been an integral part of the sport with betting from the start. The problem is to younger fans, they do not know anything different from what we have now. The fact is when I started following boxing there was the WBA and the WBC, and that was it, within a few years the IBF popped up and then the WBO. Over a few decades we have far more organizations and loads more belts. This will have an impact on the purity of competition, to deny this is just ignorance. I love boxing and it will always be part of who I am. **** the promoters, judges and refs. Time for the Revolution!!
