These guys are a disgrace, beyond a disgrace infact. How the hell do you guys in the US put up with their biased nonsense? Don't get me wrong, I think Pacquiao won the fight. But if these guys were on the radio, and all you had to go on was their opinion, you would think Pacquiao-Bradley was the most one sided fight in boxing history. A few things i noticed. 1. They must of said on 20-25 separate occasions about how Pacquiao's power gulfs Bradley's so much, it was almost like they couldn't think of anything else to say so they just repeated that over and over again despite Pacquiao never coming close to knocking Bradley out. 2. They exaggerated the power of Pacquiao's punches over and over again, especially the left hand. 3. They credited Bradley with only about 20% of his work, there was several times in the fight where Bradley landed a good shot or a decent combo and they just didn't say a word, literally not a word. 4. The rounds where Pacquiao got the better of the compubox stats they made a big deal of it, when Bradley got the better of it, they didn't mention it. I personally feel HBO/Showtime or whoever have a responsibilty to present an impartial broadcast, and certainly, last night was not. And let me just stress again, I scored the fight for Pacquiao (i've said that all day) But this was not the most one sided boxing match in history like the biased HBO commentators would lead you to believe.
I feel the same. Pac won the fight, but from HBO's commentary, you would think Bradley needed a stretcher at the end due to the beating that he was just administered.
Your not kidding. Can you imagine if these guys were on the radio? you would honestly think Bradley was on his way to the emergency room and Pacquiao was about to be crowned the greatest of all time for the most clinical boxing performance in history. They are a disgrace.
It is however one of the most one sided that fights went clearly to the wrong guy. This is right up there with Byrd/Oquendo or DLH/Tito.
HBO's B-team(Papa, Jones, Kellerman) is better than their A-squad or any combination of the A-squad+1. Hell, Kellerman was the only one that was watching the 12th round. Jim was to busy tossing Pacquiao's salad.
These commentators in general are just bad beyond imagination. Did you guys hear the Colonel during May/Cotto? Just as bad, if not even worse than the HBO fuk ups.
Like i said, i think Pacquiao won the fight. But it was a competitive fight, not a massacre like the HBO guys would have you believe.
Agreed, they were seriously baised towards Pacquiao, thats why the decsion is so controversial because they were brain washing the viewers in to thinking he was DOMINATING, Pacquiao won the fight but it was close, the lederman score card was a joke.
HBO's A squad as some call them are now like a B squad. Kellerman is not that great and Lampley has always been a good blow by blow but he is not a boxing expert. Steward is great and knows his stuff, but he seems to go along with Lampley.
I agree with this completely. Honestly, I don't believe this fight was anywhere near as one sided as people are making it out to be. It was a competetive fight! I swear, if this fight had impartial commentators, the backlash would not be nearly as bad today, your casual boxing fan could be very easily swayed by these guys creaming their pants everytime Pacquiao landed a punch. And just let me repeat for the fourth time in this thread (so i don't get accused of being a Pacquiao hater) I Thought Pacquiao won.
Did anyone else notice that nearly everytime Bradley landed a good shot or a combo they were silent? just completely silent....they didn't say a word. I think it was round 9 Bradley landed a 4 or 5 punch combo clean and they just neglected to mention it. Shame on HBO for allowing such bias to be broadcast, shame on them.
Yes I noticed that a few times through out the fight. I have seen them biased many times before, but this may be the worst I can remember. Shameful **** man. Then to top it off, Jim at the closing of the show standing there "crying" was just too much.
