What I believe happened in the Pacquaio v. Bradley fight that threw the scores off is that 2 of the judges used the amateurish scoring technique of breaking the round down into three 1 minute segments, and giving the round to the fighter who won the most segments. In many of the rounds, Pacquaio took the first two thirds of the round off, then put the hurt on Bradley in the last minute of the round. It would appear that would win him the round, but if a judge awarded the first two segments to Bradley, no matter what Pac did in the final third (short of a knockdown) he would not win the round. I believe this is what must have happened. No other explanation, except ineptness, makes sense.
Yep. That's what I thought too. Olympic style-ish. Points scoring style, who "dominated" most of the rounds by points scoring, no matter how weak the shots are, just by volume, and giving less emphasis on who inflicted more damage. Plus he stepped off the gas, the final 4 rounds, so the chance of judges piling on more rounds for Bradley opened up a lot more. Before the results were read, no lie, I was thinking "Manny didn't beat him up enough, this is gonna be close on the cards."
Yeah if hitting gloves scores points that'd make sense, but this idea that manny took the first 2/3 off every round is bs. He dominated just about every round , and every minute of those rounds. Aside from the 10th which he took off, that was the only clear round for Bradly. You can give Brad 4 rounds tops in that fight , this is just a simple robbery .
i respect your reasoning here but corruption is the reason for the scores. we all know what we saw. don't try to rationalize it.
