Pac should retire not tomorrow, not this afternoon, NOW

So true. Even though Pac won, I'm NOT impressed. That wasn't the Pac I know. The Pac that won the fighter of the decade wouldn't stop punching till the bell of the 12th round. Pac stopped fighting after round 8 and it was very very DISAPPOINTING. It's either he knew he was well above on scorecards or the fight was fixed.

 

I am a huge Manny fan and I am glad he lost this fight. His humility is superficial and is actually arrogance for those who understand the the concept of the word.

His new-found religious fervor is actually an affront to further his political ambition. A lot of pinoys may be stupid but they are not as dumb you think they are.

 

Oh yeah, leave it up to those superior young guns...yeah right.

Pac looked good last night, he only looked bad when Bradley quit by the mid-rounds. Pac can't chase fighters who don't want to fight, and the judges were on crack that evening to reward the quitter.

Honestly, both Mayweather and Pacquiao are athletic shells compared to what they used to be. Mayweather has more technical skill and technique to fall back on than Pacquiao does, which is why I think he'll be able to fight at the top level for maybe a few more years if he chooses to do so. Pacquiao, on the other hand, will continue to look worse and worse with every fight. The springs in his legs are gone, and he doesn't have the technical wherewithal to fully compensate. I'm guessing Pacquiao fights Bradley one or two more times in competitive fights (depending on the outcome of a rematch) and then calls it a career.

 

I mentioned that around the Margo fight but nobody wanted to listen. Everyone was raving because he fought a guy that suited his style so much. Then he fought Mosley who ran and people thought Pac looked bad. Pac looked fine against Mosley in comparison to the Margo fight, it was just the opponent. I actually thought Pac looked worst against Bradley than Marquez. Marquez did a excellent job neutralizing Pac and Pac at least showed spurts of urgency. Yesterday looked like a sparring match the way Pac approached the fight. Roach must be losing it because he claimed he thought Pac boxed his best performance against Bradley since the Cotto fight.

I agree Cotto was his peak and Clottey seemed to be the last time he looked great. After that, he was no better than good.

 

The Margarito fight was the first time I really saw decline. He looked plodding a lot of the time, which was strange to see. And his rapid-fire combinations were looking slower and less frequent. Anybody who says he's anywhere near the same guy he used to be and is just facing better fighters and styles is either losing the plot or has an obvious agenda. I don't think he'd be anything more than a decent contender in stronger welterweight eras. He resembled Arthur Abraham for about half of last night - a high guard and no activity. That's far from Pacquiao's Modus operandi.

 

He really should retire, because Pacquiao should have KOed that little muggin fool. He's lost that fire.

 

I didn't say they were superior, nor did I say Bradley deserved the victory. And quitter??? Pac looked good in patches, but he simply can't maintain in once high octance pace which brought him so much success. He is visibly not the fighter he was but can still operate at the elite level.

I agree with that. He was faster against Marquez. He's just rapidly declining. Him coming in at 147 (highest to date) was an indicator. His body looked soft.

I agree about Roach too, I don't know what he's thinking. He said if Paquiao looked bad he'd urge him to retire, but he's acting like Pac gave his best performance in years atsch. I hope he doesn't let Pacquiao fight well passed his prime or it's going to end up hurting his legacy.

I think people are overreacting a little bit. Sure he lost a step but I think Bradley's style is part of the reason he looked so bad. I definitely think he should have the rematch and then make a decision on retirement after that.
