Punching power is mostly natural, it also depends upon how you train your muscles. If you're a natural puncher though, developing your muscles properly will increase performance of that there is no doubt.

not always true. . . hagler was pretty muscle bound for that era, and he had very good power.

pascal is very musclebound, and he hits like a mule. . . cloud is also pretty muscular, although he's more sinewy and not as dense as pascal, yet he hits like a mule as well.

Its more to do with strong fists and tendon elasticty and a stiff bone structure. The more a boxers bones shift when they hit someone the less power they have.

Make as tight of a fist as your can. If you can't move the bones in your fist with your other hand you have a strong fist.

The OP is basing this totally off their perception of Bradley's physique and his in ability to throw powerful punches.

Muscles don't always translate into a powerful punch, that doesn't mean that a bulky looking arm cant deliver a powerful punch.
Bradley is just a weak puncher.
He should probably try eating some meat.

    or a weak other hand.

anyways i think you guys are trying to get too scientific. alot of it is style. timing. strength x speed / other guys reaction = punch effect

That's actually pretty cool I never thought about that. I do know of tendon elasticity and skeletal rigidity upon impact to make the "weight behind the punch" more "dense" so to speak but never considered the hand itself.

Look at Hall Of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan. He could throw a baseball harder than anyone in his day and he was hardly muscular. Body builders usually make terrible fighters.
