Has a fighter ever admitted they got a gift and given the title back?

    The only fight i can think of that sort of comes close is barrera morales 1

    After the fight the WBO reinstated marco as the champ

    According to barrera in an interview he said morales
    Came to him in his dressing room post fight and told him this was your night.

    I've always wondered this. The closest I can think of is Ann Wolf telling Molina that he was winning after they stopped that last fight against Kirkland.

    In regards to Barrera, I thought he and Morales hated each other after that fight.

    Don't know giving back the title but Leonard admitted he lost the rematch against Hearns.

    They were always natural rivals but even after the first fight they hugged eachother. The anamosity came into it when the rematch was being planned

    I dont know about titles, but years after the fact, ray leonard admitted to tommy hearns that hearns in fact, won their second fight, which had originally been declared a draw.

    Pascal gave Hopkins his belts after the first fight.thats why after the 2nd fight Hopkins gave Pascal his belt

    Not boxing but Rampage Jackson was making a scene in the ring after he won a controversial decision to Ninja Rua in Pride. Winners got given trophies and I think he tried to give his to a pissed of Ninja Rua
