When do you feel that will be? And don't you think it would be better for Hatton to fight him now while he still has his skills and a better chance of victory (I don't think anyone would argue that Hatton is now near the twilight of his career), rather than when he can just make bigger bank?
I'm not so sure about that. Benn and Eubank were both big draws and their rematch was long overdue. Their first fight being so exciting the public appetite for a rematch was unprecedented. Most still aren't aware of Witter other than him being 'the bloke who always calls out Hatton'. Some casual boxing fans may have seen Witter fight before and not be interested. Let's face it he ain't exactly Mr Entertainment is he?
I couldn't care less about Hatton-Malignaggi. Shouldn't Malignaggi give Ngoudjo a rematch? He lost that fight. And if Hatton is "all about the challenge" why doesn't he take on the number one light welterweight?
Another win on British soil will get the casuals back into the frame of mind that Hatton is some sort unstoppable wrecking machine at 140lb. Witter could always attempt to raise his own profile by fighting an opponent with a name. I'm not talking in the distant future, simply when the image of Hatton falling on his arse in Vegas is less immediate and when some more blokes down the pub know who Junior Witter is.
Hatton will fight Witter eventually but he just had his 1st loss of his career against the P4P No 1 and people want him to fight Witter in his comeback fight, come on the guy deserves a tune up first.
His only fighting twice this year. That means we have to wait ANOTHER Year whilst Hatton hopes that Witter will loose and the fight will go off the boil. Its been brewing for 7 ****ing years. The iron isnt hot its baking ****ing burnt. I hope Paulie stands him on his head in a boxing clinic. A Hatton PBF rematch is just as shambolic as PBF`s rematch with DLH. Utterly pathetic.
The problem is Scura, Witter brings nothing to the table, no money, 900 fans max, and thats it, he needs a couple of belts before it makles it interesting., im not a Witter hater, hes my 4th fave fighter, but he holds no cards.
O get rid of that tired excuse. For ****s sake Arran your not that thick are you? What does Lazcano bring? Well over a years worth of inactivity and a handful of fights at 140 with his best win being against Ben Tackie? Or powder puff Paulie for getting beaten to a pulp by Cotto winning a debateable decision in his last fight and the IBF? Or what about Ree`s the fluke WBA champ and Torres that no ones really heard of? Witter has the best claim out of the 4. Why? Because of there history, the fact there BOTH British, he holds a world title like the other 4, and is the most talented of the 4 and is also the rightful number 2. Who gives a **** if its 900 fans max? Do you think Lazcano is bringing half of Mexico to a bout over here? Couple of belts my ass. ****s sake!:gsg
An reasonably easy challenge, an introduction to Las Vegas and a title so it could be billed on American tv as a unification fight?
Who`s hyping Witter? We hear repeately Witter couldnt sell out a grave yard. If thats the case wheres the hype? The hype is Ricky and his legion of lemmings who pay any fee to watch there boy squeeze one out in the ring. He said his rewarding his fans with a home coming bout by fighting Lazcano at Wembley? I hope he tears his ****ing head off.Thats hype mate.
