Please explain why Khan is known to have a "glass jaw"...?

It's because of his domestic days. Before he even turned pro, he was knocked down in the amateurs. When he turned pro he had a KD ruled against him in his match with Drilzane (who has no power), but I remember that being more of a slip, and I don't think it was a real KD. Then he went down against another fighter who was supposed to be a light puncher (Limond), and this time it was a real knockdown that hurt Khan. Khan then went down again against Gomez from a clipping shot that didn't even seem to land properly.

After the Gomez fight (which was a very grueling match) Khan swore that he would improve his defence. He hired a new coach specifically for defence, then signed to fight Prescott, who was a relatively unknown power puncher. Prescott demolished Khan in a single round.

After that, most people wrote him off. I certainly thought he would never be a world champion, because his punch resistance seemed so bad, and his defence was also poor. I was really surprised at the way he resurrected his career...people complain about Khan's flaws now, but if you were following his career from the beginning you would think it remarkable that he's even on the world stage, beating solid world class fighters. He's come a long way since those domestic days. His punch resistance does seem to have improved quite a bit -- I really can't imagine the old Khan surviving the tenth round against Maidana.
