And Harry Greb weighed about 12 pounds less than Gene Tunney , had about 280 fights than the rising Tunney, and was BLIND in ONE EYE !
Just think of a fighter today having 280 bouts against everyone and everywhere ?

read in a book, I think it was on the great trainers (arcel, futch, brown..etc) and one of them said that it was benny leonard who gave tunney the plan to grab a win from greb, to jab to the body I think his advice was

Yes it was Benny Leonard who told the disconsulate Gene Tunney,"no one is going to hit Harry Greb on the chin, so you have to go to the body ".This advice to Tunney worked a lot, but it most be understood Greb after his terrible beating of Tunney in 1922 was slowing down after 0ver 250 bouts, whilst the 12-15 pound heavier Tunney was morphing into a strong heavyweight...The 1922 Greb would always give Tunney trouble....

 

I don´t think Greb was great. Other greats were greb.
