Pac is a cash cow, and that isn't going to change. However, Bradley is a very talented fighter who is NOT a cash cow. Now... do you think that it would benefit certain people to have Bradley get a win over Pac? Rematch for more money as well? Now, you have Pac who is a cash cow, and the talented Bradley who got the decision win over Pac on a grand stage PPV. Bradley will now become a much more marketable fighter.
Very true... my take is that.. even though ARUM claims he wants the decisions of the judges reviewed and investigated.. many people knew that a rematch would benefit all who want to get paid.. I honestly feel that Arum had an influence on the judges whether he said anything or not.... Pac is the cash cow yes... but Bradley is now more marketable and a rematch between both would be lucrative... Mayweather is still NOT with Top Rank so a fight with him is out of the equation.... and always will be unfortunately.... I think that a Bradley rematch will make him more popular (even though he style is not) and Pac will make money win lose or draw to be honest... and since Pac is getting older, BRadley could be a future money maker for Top Rank.... SO IN OTHER WORDS... I think Arum had some type of influence in this.. for said reasons above.. the second logical answer is that the judges (Ross and Ford) are incompetent.. and they both were normally good judges..
You do have a good point here. Bradley is one of the few undefeated fighters that Pac has every faced and the first one in 5 years. If you are going to try to develop a super star you do it with an undefeated guy with a few decent wins behind him. If what you say is true, I would think they would avoid an immediate rematch and try to build on Bradley even more. Getting him a few more good wins and turning him into his own PPV fighter. Get Pac a few more wins as well and then do a rematch. It would be MUCH bigger at this point. Mayweather would still do his own thing. Arum is a sneaky little *******, but I think you are own to him Widdowmaker
I could care less about the decision. I was entertained. People WANTED Pacquiao to win. That in itself clouds their judgement. Just like the people who want Pacquiao to lose. a Judge's scorecard somehow validates their own 'opinion'.
This, and this is the sole reason for this particular type of robbery to take place, there are no more excuses the fans are going to take from bob the builder as to why the fight won't happen. Give pacquaio the loss, it allows bob to promote two different rematches for manny before he retires. Marquez who they robbed, and Tim who they gave a gift too. All to avoid and duck Mayweather, cause they knew that asswhippin was coming.
Hey Pantera. :hi: It's not like Pacquiao really lost any amount of luster from suffering another loss in his record, and if anything the fact that the decision was so dodgy makes his a more sympathetic figure in the eyes of the general public. So, if you subscribe to the notion that the fight was somehow rigged, the key form of motivation would be to enhance the marketability of Pac's fights down the road because people will now key in the fact that he was the victim of a bad decision- rather than the fact that he appears to have lost a step in recent fights.
yeah one good reason seems to be to create another big $ fight between bradley n pac esp while fmj-pac not getting made in the very near future
ITS VERY SIMPLE. manny might leave top prank in 2013 and arum thinks so. So this is like the passing of the torch, an attempt to make bradley the new face of the company so he paid the judges
This. ALSO though, you need to remember that the Promoter always takes a cut of the fighter's money. Since both these fighters are in Bob Arum's stable a rematch would make him more money as opposed to having them be matched against another promoters fighters.
even if we agree on this opinion of mine MP has a lot to do with the boxing as famous sports this decade and his age were against it and who would replace as icon in boxing there were some promising boxers but unlike MP. im on the second emotion the way the fight was fix if indeed it was..that needs steven spielberg on that lolz.. in fairness to bradley he does nothing to with it if there were something fishy.
