Martinez against the tops at 154: does he whip em all? If so, why is Ward higher p4p?

Many have Ward higher than Martinez P4P, but only because martinez hasn't put out as good a showing as we'd like at 160. Martinez has been trying to secure fights against the top dogs at 154 but most are all too reluctant to fight him. I only recently counted Floyd as a 154 fighter since he just beat Cotto

So how does Martinez fare? and if he beats them all then how is Ward higher?

    Floyd
    Cotto
    Lara
    Alvarez
    Ortiz
    Kirkland
    K9
    Molina

I don't like him moving down at all right now at his age. Until he does I'm not sure he'd even beat small ass Floyd at 154.

    Ward > Martinez

I dont have the unofficial fight night weight for the macklin fight but he came in at 165 for barker; he's been weighing in officially well under the 160 limit. I'm convinced he can easily make 154 even at 37, giving him a significant size advantage over the other fighters.

I still need to be convinced in regards to Ward

I agree Ward is the better fighter but Martinez has been a ranked P4P fighter longer and hasn't lost since Williams. I have Martinez 3rd and Ward 4th.

Ward's pretty much cleaned the division outside of Bute. We're still waiting on the middleweights to Unify. Martinez beats up either Golo, Junior and/or Geale then he has a case. He still hasn't beaten the top guys there, he didn't at 154 either. Ward has IMO

and will most likely beat another P4P'er in Dawson.

See thats where the difference lies-

I have Martinez beating (brutally) a top 5 P4P in PWill, and beating the lineal champion in Pavlik.

Ward has established the linearity (and only recently) but has not defeated a P4Per like Martinez has, and is only just about to- a #9-10 P4P who is moving down to accomodate him for the one fight

Ward deserves to be higher. PERIOD

and after Chad, he deserves to be #2

Yeah Martinez beat Williams down but Williams is nowhere near a good enough middleweight. It shouldn't have taken Martinez 2 tries to beat Williams in the first place (first fight was close as hell) Even Quintana was able to go 1-1 with Wiliiams at his best weight.

I didn't shoot Floyd up the rankings because he beat a great, but out of his weight Marquez. And even Marquez at 147 > PDub at 160 imo

Martinez needs to do more to get it done.

And how is beating GGG proving a case? Who has the great GGG beaten at MW that makes him so special? ****, I favor Jr's resume over Golo any day of the week. Even Geale has a better resume than Golo. Martinez IS the MAN at MW.

Then let him beat Geale or Junior. I don't care who but damn a top 5 guy would be nice.

I think as of now, Martinez and Ward are swappable but if Ward beats Dawson he does deserve to be higher than Martinez. The thing I don't like of Ward is that he only fights in his back yard.

Wait a minute, Martinez should be ahead of Ward because Martinez can theoretically beat the top guys a division below him?

Especially when you have other fighters doing better work than Martinez IMO
