Why was GBP so intent on putting Canelo..

    I partially agree with you. Lara and K9 aren't better than Ortiz for PPV sale wise. But this is Canelo and with his huge Mexican following, it doesn't matter who he fights it will sell good on PPV. After all they are making him into a PPV attraction. Its just that GBP doesn't want to risk it with Lara.

    Perhaps Golden Boy was looking at Trout as a possibility because he is a southpaw too. I was also thinking about this at work last night. There's definitely a motive for their selection IMO.
