I didnt think he won the fight, but if theres anyone in the sport who deserved a break its probably Bradley. He got little recognition before this fight and hes been one of the hardest working fighters in the sport. Pacquiao got a gift in his fight before this and is was arguably just as close (not really close at all). Manny isnt really gonna suffer for this financially and hes still a superstar, but Bradley gets a huge boost from this. As far as the fight, it did seem that Manny was just too comfortable and didnt do enough offensively, the same reason he claims that Marquez the 3rd fight with him. Maybe this is just Karma, and hopefully it will motivate elite fighters to go for the KO more when they got a guy hurt instead of leaving it to the mixed bag of judges.
Nah. He was betrayed by the judges every bit as much as Pacquiao. Unless he KO's or domiantes Pac in a rematch, or does the same to Mayweather, he will never, ever walk away from this. This will define his legacy in boxing - the guy that got the gift. The dummy in the fix. At best the sole beneficiary of total incompetence. He's already getting hate male and threats. That is set to continue. Guy deserves more.
It was a closer fight than most people here seems to believe.. Bradley got a thin decision against one of the greatest fighters of this era.. He deserves more respect.
Yeah, those death threats he's getting make it difficult for me to be happy for him. He's not doing all that well...with the death threats and all.
Time changes people perception though. And if the decision means nothing, then why the outrage and chance in rankings? People in boxing disagree with the decision, but respect it enough to acknowledge it. Years from now, it will just be a win for Bradley and a loss for Pacquiao. If Bradley ever makes the HOF, that will be mentioned as one of his accomplishments, just like if Chris John does his "win" over Marquez will be.
Those two situations are so compeltely different as to be beyond compare. Firstly, John's win over Marquez was not quite the robbery this one is. Secondly, nobody gave a ****. Nobody. This is the biggest boxing story of the year. People who know boxing history still speak in hushed tones concerning the robbery of Sharkey over Schmeling 90 plus years later. For casual fans, sure, it will just be a W in a column, but those people don't define legacies. But i'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about for the rest of his career, now. He's going to be the guy who robbed Pacquiao until he retires.
For the heart and ballz that bradley showed in that fight he deserves alot of respect even if the judges got the descision wrong it aint his fault
Very happy for Bradley, even though I was pulling for the guy I can admit he got a gift though. It's not his fault, this **** happens in boxing all the time.
99.9 % of the whole world knows he lost that fight he does not deserve anything given to him like that Pac won
Not disrespect to the OP here at all, but this is a load of horse****. There are boxers out there who've come up from literally the gutter, sleeping on the streets that went into boxing to try and make a living. They've worked hard, sweat out the same sweat and bled the same blood, but they never got recognition. Do they deserve as much recognition as Bradley has? Do they deserve more because their life is a sob story? Do we give Titles and Championships out to people just cause they worked hard? You even say you thought he lost, but deserves the admiration and accolades of a hollow and false victory? All because he worked hard?
Imagine if they gave the decision to Cotto vs Mayweather (and that fight was closer than this one) Bradley is never going to live this down so its hard to be happy for him. Glad he made some money but thats about it.
Bradley is a good guy, and no he doesn't deserve all the hate mail and death threats, that's just going overboard. He's a good man. He also doesn't deserve the W on his resume, nor the Title/Belt he now carries.
