He was just a bit incompetant as opposed to corrupt. Towers was gone, but after that Tony was begging for a 'British stoppage' and went down three times. Either of them could've broke both arms and the ref still wouldn't have called it off.

**** reffing. Esp giving Towers all that time to recover during the 5th.

Sounds like a good ref, What kind of refs do people want? If a fighter is still on his feet, and just blindly taking shots, not even keeping his gloves up.

That's when you stop the fight.

Hey guys. You guys got the full card results? Interested in the Lucas Browne fight even if it was only against Hastings.

Towers wasn't there, he took a lot of shots, laying on Tony and the ropes is all that really kept him up, should have been stopped in the 5th. If Tony had some power/energy/ability left at that moment Towers could have been pretty badly hurt.

Gregory Tony would probs have won that fight if not for the ref but the guy makes Golota look like a never-say-die warrior. I've seen 3 of his fights and in two (the other being Mike Perez in Prizefighter) he's blatantly taken a dive, claiming a shoulder injury by circling his arm around which you wouldn't actually be able to do if you had hurt your shoulder. I won't be shedding any tears for him losing that fight.

yeh but when one of em (Towers) is on the verge of getting stopped, a "good ref" doesn't repeatedly jump in and pull his opponent off him for no good reason other than to give Towers a break from being hit in the head.

To add to this Towers was being held up by the hopes on a couple of occasions, this according to the rules classifies as knockdown and he should take a count but instead the ref pulls toney off lets him get his balance and says box on

I wonder why he acts this way, some really strange characters in the game.

yeh but i think being held up by the ropes is putting it mildly!..Towers was limply hanging over the ropes like clothes on a washing line. At one point Tony was celebrating when the ref pulled him off Towers thinking that the fight was going to be stopped...but all the ref did was give towers time to recover! I think thats why out of disgust he threw the towel in himself ..no way was he going to be allowed to win. Well if enzo maccarinelli can get away with having the bell come in 30 seconds early to save him from getting KO'd anythings possilble.

 sounds hilarious. I never saw the fight, but when you stated that Tony was celebrating at one point. An image entered into my mind, and I started laughing to myself.

I don't even know who Gregory Tony is or what he looks like. But I imagined him as a black man, with a little Afro.

Looks abit like Tony Tubbs, but in better shape.
