I see your point but the quality issue means more I think. It is hard to force a guy like Sergio into a war. What is in Chavez favor is that Sergio is getting older and is worn out a little. As for Lee being a big MW- Lee is also more stretched out which means body punching was a target vs. Lee, and yet Lee did not have the power to keep Chavez respectful to Chavez worked the body without paying a price. Chavez is strong, but eventually someone with a punch will hurt him and it will not be a long fight at all. He has to work on his defense when he steps up to fight better guys. It is good he beat Lee, but Martinez and Lee are different levels and moving up to 168 an d 175 those guy are going to hit hard and be fast. Believe me Andre Ward or Froch or Dawson would be a much different story.

If JC Jr comes into the fight at 180 pounds, i don't see how Sergio can hurt him. JR can't fight for shite, but no one has been able to hurt him because he's really a bleeping cruiser weight. Matchmaker Roach will likley insist on a tiny ring which hurts Martinez speed advantage...

It’s been about two years since Chavez Jr. started putting on a lot of weight. Before that, his weight was in the ballpark of 160 from 2007 to 2009, but he was facing weak opposition back then. But since around 2010, Chavez Jr. has really packed on a lot of weight, but has been reluctant to move up in weight. It’s kind of undertandable because his skills wouldn’t match up against super middleweights because there too many good ones, and he probably couldn’t even pick up a paper title. It’s pretty much middleweight or nothing for Chavez Jr unless he wants to go after one of the WBC’s Silver straps at 168.
