He's not ready for Froch but if Ward moves up,168 might be the division where Jnr really makes his mark. He'll need to acclimatize though,he's not a one-punch guy,and 168 has a couple of sturdy chins amongst the gatekeepers.
IMO Froch just looks like the worst possible match up for him.. Froch has the chin to eat his power, He is more skilled, and hits like a mule... I do not see any way that Jr can win this fight. :think
Very goo Idea, well not for Chavez jr, but for the fans, fighters should fight at a weight that suits them best.
the threadstarter and a few others seems like they've given up on the idea of jr. getting murdered at 160. as for him not fighting anybody at 160, he will close that book when he ko's sergio next.
He'll probably beat/be competitive with the fringe contenders like Magee, Oosthuizen and Rodriguez. But I don't really rate Chavez that highly to be honest. Even guys like Balszay would be favourites imo. Alright, how does he do against these guys? Stieglitz Pavlik Bika Bute DeGale Groves Magee Oosthuizen Rodriguez Balzsay
If he ko'd Martinez it would be a shocker. I think Martinez picks him off and never allows Jr to get close enough.
:adminatsch Gennady Golovkin, Pirog and Martinez would beat him @ 160 Sturm and Geale would give him a competitive fight. The only (top) guys @ 168 he could beat are Stieglitz an Balzsay the rest beats him up Kessler ko's him @168 in less then 6 rounds
Chavez would KO/TKo Stieglitz late in a great fight win a close on points vs Pavlik would get Ko'ed vs Bute quick close fight with Magee would lose via ko vs Bika beat Balzsay
