Wrong! Martinez has been promoting himself for awhile already in Mexico appearing at several national tv shows. Everyone in Mexico know of Martinez and the feud with Chavez Jr and Sr.

Ortiz is nothing special in Mexico and most don't even know him. Besides you can't compare the fights; Chavez fighting the legitimate MW champion vs Canelo fighting a WW who will be moving up in weight. Who do you think will win the PPVs? :hi:

Either fight is fine with me Martinez-Canelo at 154 or Martinez-JCC jr. at 160.

 

If they go head to head Canleo will win the PPV he will also get more views in Mexico and it wont be close

 

The lame duck in all of this is Ortiz.

If Canelo was fighting Paul Williams, or Kirkland, then both cards on the same night would be a nightmare.

But, since he's fighting Ortiz, I think I might lean more towards Jr vs sergio. Still this sucks and I don't want to have to give up in one fight.

 

I really do hope Oscar moves the PPV up or back a week. Have a feeling egos might get in the way though :-(

Both Canelo and Jr finally starting to realize their potential, but I'd be surprised if either manned up to Maravilla when not even Floyd and Manny are man enough to even mention him. Mexicans and latinos know who Maravilla is. Ortiz is still the laughing stock he's not even popular in Mexico. There's no Mexican boxing fan I know that DOESN'T know who Maravilla is. Jr at best might give a spirited, valiant effort, but Maravilla too fast, too smart, too powerful for Jr. I'd hate to miss Alvarez vs Ortiz, but Maravilla is the true middlweight king and Jr challenging him is a far bolder challenge than Ortiz tho I'm a Canelo fan and not really a Jr fan. Props to Jr for finally being a real Mexican if he does challenge Maravilla its not about whether he wins or loses its about letting his nuts hang and fighting for the honor and respect of boxing fans. I don't see him that much better than Sturm.
