Yeah, but that is the poorest divison in the sport currently, so even if he lost id put him at 2...Briggs hasnt made any noise, and Roy Jones is a contender, thats all you need to know its in bad shape.
Assume further that DLH become fat, challenge Wright this fall and win, will you consider him also best LHW?
DLH relies to much on physical attributes to do **** as a fatman....But to answer your uh..realistic question...It depends on what else happens in the division, maybe Paul Briggs will look good again, and it depends on how Winky and Hops fight turns out, seriously...Theres 3 people in the division that are worth anything imo....and thats counting Winky..and no, not Roy Jones
Well, the fight ain't at lightheavy to begin with. It is a catch weight at 170. Now I would only consider Wright as the number P4P if he ever beat Hopkins. But if Hopkins can beat Wright, then he is automatically top 3 P4P if not top 2. In my humble opinion, of course.
Yes, Bernard is the best LHW in the world right now, if he loses then Wright takes it. Plain and simple.
i think its fair to say that he is the best fighter if he went into the lt heavy weight division, but unless its a light heavy weight title fight then imo it will only be what it will be a win over a great fighter.
then if wright wins id say he the #1 light heavy weight:thumbsup the reason why i think any title adds validity is because fighters are sometime known to step up only where a title or their title is at stake. one example was when duran lost to estaban dejesus. it wasent the worst duran but it made sure that he did everything possible to win when his title was on the line.
I thought they were fighting at a catch weight of 170? Hard to name someone the champ who hasn't fought yet at 175, but yes at this point I would say BHop is the best at 175 so if the belt is on the line hard to deny Winky that title.
Looking back at this now, after 5 years, Winky Wright would have been better off had he just retired for good, after losing to Bernard Hopkins. Had he retired, right then and there, he probably is a lock for the Hall of Fame in most people's eyes. The 2 'pathetic' comeback attempts in the last 5 years really hurt Wright.
