"i felt i owed to the forum to say a few words when it wasnt busy as i dont wanna argue with anyone or create any bad feelings. yes i had been doping for 6 years but for most of u guys to think my opponents were not because of their physiques is quite ridiculous. i know for a fact that 3 guys i fought as a pro were on stuff although i will not mention any names and the majority of the boxers u all love so dear are on stuff, fact and this is from me talking to them, seeing them buy stuff or talking to their training personnel. Cheating is when u are the only prson doing something and since i know that i wasnt the only person doing it, it cant be defined as cheating. a large minority if not majority of boxers are doping and the naivity of the public to think that mine is an isolated case is staggering. Also i am so surprised that i get so much stick but the guys i look up to in the sport like roy jones, shane moseley and james toney who have all been caught dont get as much stick. Also lets not forget the holyfield incident with evan fields story, vargas and even mayweather using banned painkillers. if u hate me for doping fine, but then be prepared to hate all ur fav boxers and indeed athletes.
I appreciate the support I got from this forum and thats why i am coming on here and telling u this. Also i will not hide away as that is not my style and i will be back in boxing when the ban ends like it or not. Walk a mile in my shoes b4 u judge me."

I think he's probably spot on with his assessment.

Seems like there are two different realities in boxing. There's the fans reality from the outside looking in, in which drug cheats are few and far between and those who do cheat are disgusting frauds who should be banned.

Then there's the fighters mentality of those inside the sport, in which it's accepted that a lot of boxers use drugs to help them train and fight and it's just part and parcel of the sport.

One of the oldest defences of doping is that regardless of what the rules say, if everyone is doing it is not cheating. When you feel that you have to use drugs because most of the guys you will face are using them then it's reached a point where THAT is the real level playing field. when we accept that this is the way things are then I think we might be in position to work at riddin sports of doping. But as long as doping is treated as if it's something done by the odd rogue athlete then we're always going to be a long way of tackling the real problem.

Not really. More than one person can be cheating.

Nobody claimed it was an isolated case either, doesn't excuse it.

Why did he admit he has been on them for 6 years?

    Shouldn't have admitted it.

But in all seriousness he's playing the victim, never liked him as a fighter and after that post never will like him as a sportman which he's clearly not.

I have no doubts there's others juicing but there's no excuse to do it yourself and the fact your still crap when doing it makes it worse.

I'm sure PEDs are very widespread, but he was stupid enough to get caught, and then stupid enough to admit he's been juicing for 6 years. At the end of the day only athletes that fail tests can be branded cheats, even though we can speculate about others (a certain Mr Chavez Jr, for one).

I've lost all respect for him as a fighter. What he has had to say has not helped.

I suspect he'll hit the world of unlicensed for a few years. I looked on his boxrec and he's been juicing even before his debut. Boxrec also says his record is wiped..
