How did David Lemieux look in his last fight, and what's next for him?

Yeah, no ****. Conditioning was always a bit suspect, but then, he was in the best shape of his career for Alcine and still got beaten well. I just don't think he has the physical attributes. Not tall enough, reach is too short and he hasn't got the speed or the ring smarts to counterbalance those deficiencies.

Lemieux fought, at 22, a hungry former world champion. A guy with talent, but who never had that killer instinct, but who came like a lion and with the intention to prove something. I had Lemieux winning by two rounds.

Lemieux has tromendous power and if he tightens his defense, blocking shots with his gloves, I think he still have the attributes to climb to the top, despite his defenciencies. At 22, he already fought two guys who fought in a championship bout, and a former world champion (I had Lemieux winning by two rounds).

Very poor test for Lemieux, but he's got to get back into the mix after two disappointments. The gloss is off, and it's hard to get back (see Jason Litzau), so the hard work begins.

Litzau was never more than a glorified club fighter, Lemieux has some world class skills. His promoters completely screwed up his developement when they got overly excited with his blow out wins over Ayala and Camacho. He needed to just win an easy fight to get some confidence back so he can start believing in himself again.

Physically, Chavez is about three weight classes bigger than Lemieux, so yeah he should be able to beat him.

He's not too small for MW... he's too small for MW for his style. A guy should fight in a style that suits his physique, but David is fighting like a big slugger. It would be perfect if he was at Jr.MW, but at MW he should make himself smaller, get on the inside and work the body with his great power. His body shots are really good, but he's too much of a head hunter. He's not moving his head nearly enough, so he'll always get tagged by a good jab. He's a frustrating guy to watch, because you can see the potential.

This, except for the head movement. Lemieux should learn to block shot, not rely on head movement, espacially that, like you said, his game is in the inside. Chavez is a great example of inside game and Lemieux should learn from that. Hit the body, wear guys down and the KO will come anyway. Don't go for the homerun in the first five rounds.

Lemieux needs to GTFO of Montreal, before its too late and move to the US where he can get with a worldclass trainer. 154 would be wise as well. Dude's got a lot of natural gifts that cannot be taught but he needs conditioning and this new coach haveing him lift weights is a ****ing moron!!! That's the last thing David needs, dude needs to run more, he's got power and a solid build so weights are a dumb idea and will constrict him, needs the opposite.

Sparring with Pascal,Stevenson and Alvarez on a dayly basis can't do any wrong though.
