Agreed. When a discussion turns from factual to emotional it is usually a sign that the emotional guy is losing.

If I'm GBP, I move this fight back a month, but reserve May 5th for a Canelo fight immediately.

Did you miss the part where I referred to the last few years, specifically the period of time when the war between the two promoters has been at its peak?

The numbers will tell us if you are correct or not. I suspect you will find out that you are wrong. PPV worthy = # willing to pay.

    I agree.

Hated when rival promoters competed on the same night but now it livens up the sport a bit. Makes for a more entertaining evening. Not sure which PPV I'll buy and I might even skip the whole thing and wait for the replays the week after. Since i never stream, of course. :yep

    Well, I think I agree.

Chavez-Martinez on Pay-Per-View is a stretch. They would need to make that a doubleheader with a big fight under it.

Same with Canelo-Ortiz. Ortiz fought Mayweather in his only headlining ppv fight. Canelo never has. I question the numbers they get in america.

Both fights need to be promoted hard if they're going to be on Pay-Per-View, especially in the wake of Pacquiao-Bradley. Need to build good will...

They only need to do better than they would get from the network guarantee to make it worth while and "ppv worthy".

Chavez Jr. vs. Martinez is the much easier fight to promote. Jr. has name recognition and Martinez has that highlight KO of Williams for the commercial. Plus, real boxing fans respect Martinez more than any of the other three.

Ortiz vs. Canelo is a harder sell, IMO. "Watch the guy who got sucker punched by Mayweather fight a bigger guy" isn't a good pitch.

You think? He comes across more like a sooky little **** to me! I **** myself laughing when the tubby Swiss ***** starts talking tough about how he will not let Arum pushhim around etc, etc! I have no doubt that Schafer was the bully's punk at whatever Swiss finishing school he went to - his ass was wide open for business 24/7!
