Golota basicaly quit in both fights.

The brain is the weakest link in the human body, and if it wan'ts out os a situation in can be verry inventive in finding mways out. The mental squence works a bit like this:

1. I would rather die than quit.
2. I won't quit, but if I did loose would there realy be any shame in it.
3. This is how I would explain it to people if I did loose.
4. What is the first thing I would do if somebody else took matters out of my hands e.g DQ or corner pulling me.

Therfore the point at which a fighter will foul out comes significantly before the point at which they will quit on their stool.

Furthermore the stongest psychological pressure to quit dosn't actualy come from physical pain which is relativley easy to rationalize. The factor most likeley to make a fighter quit is the beleif that they can't win, and are taking their beating for nothing.

This was not like Gans Nelson, were when Nelson fouled out when he was loseing, Golota winning this one, and outside of fouling out or a knockout on Bowe's part, I could not see him loseing.
