Marquez's combinations are pure poetry in motion and technically/ability-wise, I give him the edge over M and B. M has quit, something that Marquez would NEVER do and B is a little too dirty for me. It comes down to personal bias, too, of course. Marquez's resume isn't especially deep, but whenever he has had to step up, he has delivered. He has Pacman's number, which to me puts him at a distinct edge over M and B.
for those who think marquez. i suggest you make a list of all the quality wins all 3 has had in their careers. after you make that list , if morales and barrera's list is not longer than marquez...... it's because you don't know who a lot of the fighters back in their prime was. yes marquez has caught up recently. he's still fighting well while barrera and morales has been done for several years. but i'll leave on this note. marquez won his first world title in 2003. a vacant belt against a washed up manuel medina. morales? barrera? 1997. 1995. a 6-8 year difference.
You make perfectly valid points, but I make no secret of the fact that my choice here is based on personal feelings, not cold hard facts. If I was trying to base my view here on fact,I'd be quite justifiably shot down quickly. But I won't hide that I find it difficult to be objective and/or subjective on this matter.:good
we all have our favorites and personal biases. hell i think david tua would have been a world champion if he had a better promoter. :good
Personally, I have no opinion on who's greatest. I honestly wouldn't feel confident comitting to one. I do think that if we had a three way tournament, (4 way actually. Jose Luis Castillo belongs in this discussion) that MAB would come out on top.
castillo is too big and doesn't belong in a tournament with the other 3. castillo use to come in at 150-155 lbs. when he was at 135. barrera started out at 115-118. morales at 122.
One dimensional PAC fought these three guys back to back to back. Well he had a tune up between Marquez and Morales but I'd say that's close enough.
Morales first became a world champion after beating Zaragosa and defended it 8 times before fighting Barrera for a unification bout.. He won by a Split Decision then he moved to the featherweight.. Won his second title over Espadas, defended it 1 time before suffering his first defeat against Barrera.. Won it again the next fight, defended it 1 time before moving to the Super Featherweight division.. Won his third title against Chavez, a unification bout against Hernandez before suffering his second defeat against Barrera again.. Won over Pac decisively.. Lost to Raheem, stopped by Pac twice and from there on until now even if he's suffering losses, he is still considered one of the best.. In fact, he is the first Mexican to be a champion in four different weight division by beating Cano.. :deal Barrera and Marquez won't top that.. :smoke
Should I explain it? Or you go figure it out yourself? Kindly look at the way I quoted their posts, and how I respond.. :hey
