So, almost literally, Lopez Ortiz's heart was fractured.

 

Razor Ruddock broke is jaw as early as the 2nd round in the 2nd Tyson fight...MIKE TYSON that is, 2nd round with Tyson and you choose to continue with a broken jaw?!?! Cajones man! AND he fought to the final bell. As an amateur i can understand stopping the fight because of a serious injury, however Ortiz has a history with quiting and is mentally fragile until I see the medical reports confirmed/denied I cant say anything. This does not look good for Ortiz rep though...

He couldn't close his mouth. I doubt the ref would have let it go on if his mouth was hanging open the entire round.

 

I'm sorry but this viewpoint makes me sad about boxing. Why would you want a fighter to continue after his jaw is broken? The refs should stop the fight as soon as that happens, it shouldn't have to be the fighter who stops it.

 

Ortiz is a dirty, cheating, cowardly fighter. I'm happily watching his downward spiral. Good riddance, chump.
