he was hit with the mouth open, a jaw breaks easily this way.. anyway.. The moment Ortiz jaw broke... he KNEW the Canelo fight was over for him, no time to recover, do you think this may have influenced his decision to stop ? The man took hell in the Berto fight and kept going to win, let us not forget. thoughts ?
ehh, nah, to be honest I dont think the canelo fight crossed his mind. I dont think ortiz thinks that far ahead when he's in a fight. he's really an "in the moment" kind of guy. he doesn't think things through. maybe the fact that the canelo fight dissolved really hit him when he squatted in front of that mirror in the locker room after he left the ring. I felt like the consequences of his decision dawned on him then.
he never took hell in the berto fight, he had one bad round imo. even then he got a knockdown. Berto was a glass jaewd bum anyway, who ducked orthodox fighters.
doubt it, there were times during that fight I saw something weird in his eyes, I call him the Balotelli of boxing because you never know what to expect. In the early rounds I couldn't figure out having had Jose hurt bad why he didn't go for the kill. At first I thought he was trying to get rounds in the tank but this obviously was not the case. Ortiz seemed to have no pop in his punches like he usually has also looked a hell of alot smaller than he usually does at 147.
Nah he wanted out mich earlier. He was spooked of that skinny ass Lopez. That was qiite an amazing image when Lopez was yellon at Vic, 'come on lets ****in fight!' And vic backed up like 'oh ****....' damn that was crazy
I don't really blame him for quitting.. a couple more flush shots could really ****ing mangle his jaw even more. I know AA did it, but clearly AA isn't as smart as VO.. tougher.. sure.. smarter? Nope.
VO isn't smart. Why would anyone think he's smart? He's a boxer but he doesn't have a fighters heart. He doesn't like to accept the punishment of being a warrior but wants the paycheck.
Broken jaw is one of the most painful and debilitating injuries in boxing. If he quit because of it, it should not be held against him. It's a fair loss, but that's a very serious injury that is only going to get worse in a boxing match.
True! The crew was saying that he put on muscle but he looked way smaller than when he fought Mayweather. Against Mayweather he was ****in huge! Normally he should have imposed his size and strength against Lopez. The Balotelli comparison works well with Ortiz!
