It's not that we call him a puto and quitter for no reason. Some people have a pattern of never showing any heart and he's one of them.

In the Mayweather fight he pulled the same kinda ****. Mike Tyson would freak out too, but we can admit that Mike Tyson did have heart at some point and it was only when he went up against truly tough guys like Holyfield that he broke. Anyone would break against someone like Holyfield who may be the toughest boxer in the sport. Douglas broke Tyson because he was fighting with his mothers spirit and Holyfield was fighting with the holyspirit.

Ortiz never had heart. He quit against Mayweather and Mayweather isn't a big puncher so we know he didn't want to get up. Berto hits harder than Mayweather.

And remember that comment Ortiz made about not wanting his beautiful face to get bruised up? What fighter says some **** like that? That is like someone breaking a nail on the school yard and crying and quitting.

I don't blame Ortiz for quitting when his jaw was either broken or dislocated but Victor was mentally out of this fight long before that happened. He quit mentally and then physically.

when Ali got his broken jaw he could close his mouth! Victor couldn't and that makes a huge difference!

quitting on a broken jaw is a valid reason.

And Victor got caught and dropped by Berto with a shot I didnt think he could recover from, and not only fought on but knocked him down towards the end of the round. So I think he has heart, but he isnt stupid enough to fight when he cant close his mouth!

It appeared to me that his jaw was dislocated rather than broken. It of course could be both. Dislocation usually hurts worse than a breakage.

Worst part is Ortiz was winning. Big pay day down the drain. Shame.

I respect your opinion, but Ortiz could have fought on. There were 3 rds left and he had a HUGE fight with Canelo on the horizon (cuz we all know the judges were not going to give Lopez a decision)

I'm not knocking him for not wanting to contunue but for a fightwr with a career defining fight on the line, he showed he is not a true champion. Because beating Berto does not constitute greatness. Let's not forget for the 2nd fight in a row he was trying to get disqualified.

I don't understand why so many people are feeling sorry for him. He had a huge opportunity and folded. Still gets my respect as someone who laces up for a living but he shouldn't get a pass for his actions.

Also, he seemed pretty determined to make sure the ref stopped the fighr. For a second it didn't seem like his jaw was the real reason he didn't want to continue

Ortiz was losing in my opinion. He was becoming increasingly frustrated. Still haven't heard if his jaw is broken or not which is strange cuz usually he woulda went straight to hospital n if it was broke woulda immediately released the info. Lopez didn't talk shir bout Vic. He said he tried to intimidate him n it didn't work. That's making a positive statement bout himself not a negative bout Vic. And it was a very true statement. I watched the life go out of Vic when he cracked Lopez and Lopez waved him in and then attacked with fury. Ortiz is weak minded this is not a secret. I thought maidana was a fluke and berto his redemption but after this and Floyd I think berto was the fluke and there is no redemption. Now I get a confirmation that his jaw is broke maybe I'll think different but I doubt it. Can't see why anyone would choose to hate on Lopez over this. He stepped up on a big way. Had him winning and don't see how no one else did. **** being grateful to Ortiz for a shot. They picked him as a warm up with little choice or option. I'd give Vic the bird and laugh. Lopez more sportsman than me haha

Lopez has the right to talk **** because Vulva Ortiz continually hit him on the back of the head/neck, something that could've ended his career.

He would not have been able to fight Canelo if his jaw was either broken or dislocated. Not for at least 6 months anyway.

And also, I'm extremely excited to see Lopez against top 140 or 147 competition. Strikes me as the type who does better on a big stage. All props to Josesito Lopez.
