I am a Kevin Mitchell fan, but he can't be giving the champion deadlines. It's not as if Mitchell is the no. 1 contender and if this fight does happen i am guessing it would be on Burn's terms.

Mitchell talking out his ass again especially about Pacquiao .Pacman would decapitate him .He's 1 with the WBO if he wanted any part of Burns he could probably get it .He aint hungry enough .There's no other route I agree with the original post .Burns would beat him .

I agree for me Kats is just a bigger better pressure fighter than Muarry .I still want to see Burns shut Mitchell up though .

Burns is good but Mitchell is so sharp and punches with so power I see Mitchell taking it.

Burns is a dedicated world champ and has proved himself at world level .Mitchell will half a-- his training and at world level he'll get exposed .Talk is cheap till u back it up .You can;t get away with that at world level he'll get exposed again like against Kats ,

    Exactly.

Burns is champion and should and/or will be dictating terms. Mitchell has the square root of **** all to negotiate with.

He is giving Ricky a deadline, say Ricky turns round and says "**** you am going to have a unification fight instead!"

what does Mitchell do then? He isn't mandated as number 1 contender.

    Burns isn't a proper champion.

Mitchell needs to schedule another fighter and further his cause rather than sit around hoping that his promoter will get him the fight off of beating Felix someone.

Even if he beat Murray, only in boxing could you get a title fight off of something that happened over a year ago.

Don't know why people give Burns so much stick, he is a decent belt holder. Hardly one of the worst ones around.

He would also beat Mitchell easily on points, probably win about 9-10 of the rounds.

I really like Ricky and I think he has done brilliantly to win the belt he holds, but I believe he is held in too higher regard by the posters on this site. Since winning the title v martinez what has he really accomplished? Obviously prior to martinez his career was domestic level at best, since then he had a wonderful win v kats, but I suspect that kats was already on a steep downward slide by then, it certainly was not anywhere close to prime kats, he also has a couple of wins v afrobums, I think ricky needs to beat mitchell in order to cement his standing as the best lightweight in the uk. I believe mitchell will present him with his toughest fight since johansen and we all know what happened there.
