Nope, and I'm not disputing that. What we want to find out is when and how it will happen again. He puts up a good fight in between all of that happening as well, and sometimes, like in the Berto fight, he doesn't fold and is in the fight of the year. This is a guy that is a true "love to hate" kind of a guy. Not at all bad for boxing in my opinion.
Dude is so unpredictable. You never know if he's going to kick ass or get his ass kicked....and that changes within the fight sometimes. He's must watch boxing, and I'll keep tuning in. Berto/Ortiz II and Rios/Ortiz are great exciting fights that people will want to see.
Ortiz is must see like Kirkland is must see. Vulnerable, but with power. I'll definitely be hoping there is a rematch, I'd pick Ortiz to win but major props to Lopez. This performance to me was similar to Rios vs. Peterson. He won alot of fans, and I hope he doesn't waste away his opportunities like Rios did after Peterson and Acosta
Im not a fan but you're damn right I'll watch but that has nothing to do with Ortiz. I love boxing and I try to never miss ANY fight, period. And you can bet your ass I'll be looking forward to lopez's next fight. Kid is all balls.
not continuing wasn't the worse thing the worse thing was SAYING "my trainer wanted me to go on, but i didn't" couldn't dude have lied and say that HE wanted to continue but his trainer is the one who called it? i knew he was dumb but wow .....but only fight for the tree is against bam bam, even that isn't really a boxing match, just two guys who aren't really that good fighting (one end you have fatboy who can't make weight, on the other u have a quitter), 2 stupid males fighting though may prove to be somewhat entertaining
Rios kicked his axe as a kid and will still do so. Mikey Garcia told Lopez how to beat Ortiz. "Seen" is somewhere, but to paraphrase, 'If you don't back down, Ortiz will'.
Agreed. I want to see this rematch. If it is a war, make it a trilogy. Ortiz is must watch tv, you never know what will happen. I'm kind of pissed I didn't drive up to Staples last night, will make the drive for a rematch.
Win or lose. . .it's never boring with the Vicious One. I think he's good for boxing. . .just to see what ****ed up thing he says or does in the ring.
The Berto rematch is always going to make sense, no matter what happens to both guys. No matter what, we know their styles match up for a good fight. I'm with you; let it happen.
I love Ortiz. Always in exciting fights, completely unpredictable, powerful but chinny, complete head case and hilarious interviewee. Just the rematches we could see him in are mouth-watering: Maidana II Berto II Lopez II All three were FOTY candidates, every boxing fan would watch the sequels.
