lara saw what happened to victor ortiz. he wont make the same mistake, not to mention there's no way he gets the call to face canelo, he knows he's avoided and he knows it most likely wont happen. he doesnt want another carlos molina type of draw, or even worst, a loss to a guy who got blasted out by andre berto in the first round. furthermore, freddy hernandez is no josesito lopez, and erislandy lara is no old version of luis collazo. erislandy lara will destroy freddy hernandez, within the distance.

If Hernandez is to have a chance it is that Lara is catching on that in pro boxing you have to bring some excitement. He saw he could run Hearns over and did the right thing in doing so. This could possibly open him up to Hernandez if he isn't careful. I simply don't know enough about both fighters to make an informed call on this one. In true ESB fashion I should just go with the crowd.

 

Lara doesn't waste shots and he's very elusive.

 

the beauty about lara is that he can be exciting AND a measured boxer.

 

Bring some excitement huh? He has 18 pro fights and half of them were over in the first round!!! He stopped the veteran Grady Brewer in the 10th and final round of his 10th pro fight. That's if you have questions about his stamina. Went 12 rounds against a high volume puncher in P. Williams.(he beat the brakes off of him) The only negative thing people can say about him is the draw he had against a sloppy hold first and hit fighter in Molina. His training camp sucked because his trainer wasn't present because he was handling another of his fighters. He is the real deal and I think he will display this once again on Saturday.

I feel Lara is a little overrated due to his performance against PW, that being said, I would be extremely shocked if Hernandez beat him, Lara should either be able to break Hernandez down for a late stoppage, or win a wide UD.

freddy never fought neone when he did he got sparked but it mite have been stopped to early.

i think lara might be slightly overated. but the way he handled p will so easy was impressive

 

I dont get it, how's he overrated? no one's claiming him to be the best in the sport. he's right where he should be, a supreme talent with superb skills. he's got power, speed, and a hefty bag of tricks. he's a significant threat to anyone at junior middleweight, and there's a reason promoters don't come knocking at his door. he was robbed against paul williams, and carlos molina put on his best hold and spoil display ever in their fight. erislandy lara is the truth.
