Thread Stealer's video of Ortiz showing his classic sportsmanship and how adorably lovable he is was taken down, so here you go:

Ortiz deserves all the hate that his little heart can stand.

i am surprised his corner encouraged him to continue

given the nature of the fight, and how close it was, it would have been beyond reckless to continue

he was not guaranteed a victory, even if he was victorious the fight against canelo would not be taking place, and he has the rematch clause

why flirt with a potential career damaging/ending injury with next to nothing to gain?

ortiz remains one of the most exciting fighters in boxing, many of his fights have been entertaining and apart from his poor display of professionalism against mayweather - where he was ridiculously outclassed - he is a respectable athlete who i will continue to watch

    1. Why should he have tried to win? First of all, because he is a Professional Fighter and his job is to try and win at all cost. Also because by doing what he has yet to do thus far in his career and rally back against adversity and show grit and toughness he would have somewhat blotted out the stain of Quitting that he has all over him. It would have earned him some fans and other promoters would be more willing to work with him.

Even GBP, who create and coddle more Hype Jobs than any other promoter, are going to get sick of putting this guy in big fights because it is painfully obvious at this stage that he is a mental flake and will bottle it in any adverse situation. I'm sure they'll milk him dry and put him in some more undeserved fights but even GBP know that they do not have the superstar on their hands that they had hoped for.

    2. Respectable athlete? A guy who has blatantly butted and rabbit punched the way he has done is not respectable. He is a China Chinned Clown.

i didn't say why should he try to win. why risk a potential career ending/damaging injury with all the variables accounted for as previously mentioned?

    agreed.

i don't think they will. he produces exciting fights. GB will promote, people will watch

agreed. never considered ortiz a superstar. an exciting fighter, yes

i should have said an elite and consummate athlete. i used respectable in this respect. i don't think he has the weak chin you allude to and apart from his outburst in the floyd fight, i don't think he is any more or less a dirty fighter than the majority of them. every fighter rabbit punches, holds and hits, hits low, etc.

Yes, in effect you did. He should have fought on because other tougher fighters have proven that it is not a career ending injury. Off the top of my head I can name Ali, Liston, Ruddock, and Abraham who fought complete fights with hideously broken Jaws and did not suffer career ending injuries for doing so. Would it have hurt like hell and taken significant mental fortitude to do so? Absolutely, but significant mental fortitude and pain tolerance is the mark of a fighter. Quitor is not a fighter.

His fights are not THAT exciting. People want to behave as if this chump is must-see TV and never in a bad fight but he ruined what could have been a classic with Maidana, he ruined what would have been a Boxing masterclass by Money May when he bottled it, and he didn't even fight that well in this last farce with Lopez. The going got tough, he quit, and that is not remotely exciting to me. He is not an elite fighter and the only time he put up a great back-and-forth war was with Berto and that was only because had he bottled it back-to-back with Maidana AND Berto his career would have been finito as it should be now with this last disgraceful Quit Job.

There are far more exciting fighters in Boxing who have not disgracefully quit three times. I am sorry, he can charge forward into a hundred fighters throwing punches and it will not excuse his quitting and it doesn't change the Fact that there are other action fighters out there with better Chins and Hearts who will fight until the final bell or until they are carried out on their shield. Every time GBP puts this guy in a main event or on a significant undercard they are robbing another more deserving fighter who doesn't have the promotional pull and hasn't already disgraced himself thrice.

He is hurt in nearly every fight and he got knocked spark out by two punches from Money May who is Feather Fisted at 147. His Chin is awful. Secondly, he is a far more dirty fighter than most. The majority of fighters do not blatantly billy goat head butt fighters multiple times nor do they hold an opponent's head down and try to knock them out with a deliberately aimed punch to the back of the head. Quitor Ortiz sucks. Bottomline.
