He's claiming himself to be elite, so are countless fans of his, if you constantly call out mayweather then you must think you are an elite level fighter

It didn't stop Mayweather-Ortiz fight from happening

ortiz was an established fighter at 147 thats why he was chosen he beat the no.2 in that division at the time. as has already been said even if khan beats garcia its not as if cleared house at 140 and noway does it propel him to mayweather.

so if Khan beats Bradley/Lopez etc at 147lb is he entitled to a fight with Mayweather without clearing 140lb?

 

I agree with nearly every word you've typed. Khan is a B- fighter imo who has no ring IQ, can't fight going backwards, has horrible footwork and a non-existant inside game. That said he hasn't done too bad for a since he ventured out it America.

I think the Peterson bout just reminded us that Khan has no inside game; we always knew that ever since he started fighting on ITV. The fight was close and frankly speaking Peterson screwed us all out of a rematch. You see Khan did everything in his power; he whined like a *****, he gave Peterson 50% of the UK revenue etc. Now Peterson has gone into hiding after not attending the hearing.

As far as Timid Timy goes the fight was offered to him twice and he refused and or ducked. As for Bredis, according to Khan, HBO and Sky don't want the fight cos it 'won't generate money' lol. Brook and Khan are the same age I think... but Brook hasn't accomplished near to what Khan has.


It's not like Khan is too big for 140; he could stay there for another year or two. It be safer for him as well. I think Khan is looking for a big payday @147 and then will retire @28.

The thing i don't get is that alot of fighters refer to Khan as being a basic fighter and or 'he still fights like an amateur'. I agree with that... but why is it that these top 10 opponents @LWW can't beat this amateur fighter?

It's true Khan doesn't need to move up to 147 but boxing is a business. These guys put their lives on the line when stepping in the ring so they have to look after their pockets.

Let's compare if Khan stays @ 140 he fights Maidana, Judah, Matthysse or Alvarado. (Not mentioning Peterson or Marquez because the fights won't get made). Khan will most likely make maximum $3m per fight at best if pay per view. Once this has finished he will move up to 147 and still not be worthy to fight Mayweather for that mega payday fight.

After Garcia fight if he moves up to 147 then:- He can fight Alexander, Malignaggi, Ortiz, Lopez or Brook and pocket easy $3m per fight as they can all pull of a pay per view. He can then fight Bradley and make slightly more maybe $5m+. Providing he beats one or two of these fighters then the Mayweather fight is on the plate for him and he is guaranteed minimum $20m.

What would you go for?

 

Khan vs Matthysse would be a good fight to make before he moves up to 147 lbs.

I would favour khan to win a decision over Lopez.

 

if khan moves up to 147 and establishes himself as a legitimate 147 fighter, then he's worthy of facing mayweather.

 

Thewinfella khan has said many times he finds it hard to make 140, marquez refused to fight khan twice, bradley refused as we all know, the reasoning behind no prescott rematch is according to khan; sky nor hbo will buy the fight. Not saying khan is telling it straight but if he is fair play if he aint getting paid why would you fight him? As for peterson how can you call it a win, his testosterone levels before the fight as admitted by him was x4 the amount of a normal human being. Now he can train harder than khan, he recovers faster than khan so come fight night ofcourse he's gonna be the better man. You can't say khan has flaws against a cheater because if he wasn't on it then he wouldn't be as conditioned or he wouldn't have recovered as quickly from taking shots and just charging forward non-stop. Khans power aint bad he oblitherated salita, dropped maidana, destroyed judah within 5 even though judah has been with some hard punchers like cotto and mathysse for longer. I have never seen peterson just charge forward like that, look that strong physically and have that much stamina in any of his other fights.
