Should boxing judges watch tv instead of judging it live?

    You hear all the time **** like "the angle the judge is sitting at determines what he sees"....its obvious that the best view of the fight comes from the cameras, the vantage point isnt low like judges seats. And if the fight is in the opposite side of the ring with a fighters back to the judge, he/she can really miss out on significant parts of the fight.

    I think boxing judges should be watching a live stream of the fight on a big ass tv instead of sitting there live where their prespective is occasionally limited.

    that isn't bad idea... and if they watch it without sound then the home crowed will not sway the judges either.

    i was thinking this myself the other week.

    they should at least try it out and see where it goes. maybe it's the solution to all the robbery's we see all the time. can't hurt to give it a go.

    something needs to be done about it. there aren't any other options that i can think of.

    no. they're fine sitting ringside. test them for vision and sobriety prior to the match and slap his ear muffs on them.

    As long as they don't have to listen to the broadcasters, perhaps.

    Ideally, judges would watch it on tv, without the commentary. Going further, they should have several hours to first watch, and then review the fight as they please to make sure they get the right scores.

    I hate how much subjectivity there is in boxing. Theres really nothing that could be done about it in the long run (save for knockouts), as boxing is not a sport where it comes down to who crossed a finish line first or who threw a ball in a hoop the most times. The gay part is that whatever a particular judge favors in a fight is what determines his score, and theres no way around it. But something like vantage points and deterrents like crowd noise or commentary are the easiest things to fix.

    I think it would be all around better to have the official judges watching the fight on tv away from the crowd
