Has Timothy Bradley being forgiven for his blatant duck of Khan?

You don't duck Khan to fight (and beat) Pacquiao.

 

Can you say Bob Arum? I will guarantee a fight and a victory over Manny if you don't put a dime in GBP's pocket. This is simple folks.

 

Everyone knows Bradley had management problems.

He was waiting for his contract to end before fighting again.

He was supposed to fight Khan after Khan beat Peterson.

Bradley had his tune-up against an aged Casamayor.

But then what happened, happened.

Khan went for re-match with Peterson. Bradley went for Pacquiao.

Stop being a noob.

also...don't believe the bull****. khan only started "calling out" bradley when he heard he was trying to get out of his contract with gary shaw. plus his offer was far less than what he had coming from hbo.

if khan gets past garcia....and pac passes on the rematch....expect timmeh to whoop khans ass.

 

That question is burried. Tim opted to defend his new WBO WW title and JMM is elected from interim to WBO LWW Champion so at most and if Khan wants to make history at 140, try to catch both WBA and WBC titles in a single fight against Garcia, wait till the IBF decides upon the Peterson's case and eventually get it on with JMM... Or else forget about it and do the same that Tim did but with Mayweather and the WBC WW Title, fight at 147... Tim and Khan are two separated issues from now on, there r too many other issues concerning either of them and that have nothing to do with each other.

You clearly do not know ****. Amir Khan called out Alexander, Maidana and Bradley after his fight versus Malignaggi, saying "I'll fight Maidana, and Alexander and Bradley can fight and the winners can meet up"

Bradley had even said that the winners must meet. Khan had continuously voiced for Bradley to face him. Also, how exactly do you know the offer was 'far less'? The offer was a guaranteed $1.5M+ including 50% of what Khan would generate as PPV in the UK. He was offered a spectacular purse and his manager, his promoter and even his family admitted to it. Do you ever see Bradley saying the offer was poor? No.

Bradley even voiced just now that he wants Khan if the rematch with Pacquiao can not happen. In his words even, he has said "want big money fights".

timmeh made the right decision. he's in the drivers seat. it would have been nice to see timmeh unify at 140. he just vacated at 140 to stake his claim at 147. he said that if he doesn't get the rematch he'll fight khan. i can't see khan beating timmeh.

i thought bradley was duckin khan at the time.. what was the offer $1.2MM when he could make $1.1MM fighting anyone else? then he beats pacquiao? his tax bracket just jumped a couple levels with that one decision...

 

Thing is, he didn't "pick" Pacquiao instead of Khan. Bradley fought in January 2011 and didn't fight again until November 2011, when he fought... a shot Joel Casamayor.

Not only does that equate to 10 solid months where he could have fought Khan, but he would have made more money fighting Khan than anybody else. A Khan fight would have been the biggest payday of his entire career up to that point, and would have been the biggest fight at the weight. Winning that fight would have put the winner on the short list to move up for a Pacquaio or Mayweather fight. Both Bradley and Khan needed another big win to get serious consideration for a shot at a cash cow.

However, as Bradley himself mentioned in interviews, he didn't want to fight and possibly lose to Khan, because when you're not unbeaten, you lose some of your marketing luster, and thus your attractiveness as an opponent for a big draw. In short, he admitted he didn't take the Khan fight because there was a very real chance he'd lose, and he knew that losing would take him out of the running to get a Pacquiao/Mayweather shot. If Bradley was sure he'd win and that Khan had no chance to beat him and ruin his chance at a big payday, he'd have fought him. But he didn't, because he did indeed feel Khan could well beat him.

Bradley basically ducked Khan and joined Bob Arum hoping circumstances would smile upon him and make him the next Pacquiao opponent. Since Marquez wasn't going to get an immediate rematch and Cotto refused to go back to 147, there was literally nobody left as a credible opponent. Bradley's decision to duck Khan thus paid off, because he didn't have to win a big fight to get to Pacquiao; all he had to do was not lose to a shot Joel Casamayor after joining Bob Arum.

Did I forgive him for this? **** no. Bradley's relentless trash talk after his bogus win against Pacquiao has only made this more nauseating. The fact he calls out Khan now and acts like he'd tool him when he knows full well that 1) he ducked him earlier because he thought there was too great a chance Khan would beat him and 2) Bob Arum/Top Rank won't make a fight with a non-Top Rank fighter is really the height of obnoxious hypocrisy.
