    he was a good fighter.

    had a lot of potential.

    but he is overrated by a lot of people. this thread shows that clearly enough.

    especially considering valero was turning 29 the year he killed himself.

    sometimes people forget that. he was no young kid with his half ass resume.


    while sanchez had beaten future hofers while being only 23 when he died.

    overrated!? not at all. he stopped everyone that had ever been in the ring with him. that's not an easy thing to do.

    overrated = being rated better than he deserved

    it doesn't mean he wasn't good.


    a lot of people posting up sparring videos and mentioning 1-2 solid wins and talking about he had potential to be an atg.

    that's overrated.

    the better than you argument stands true cause we're all behind a computer criticizing warriors when we have nothing to show for it. We're as bad as Skip Bayless.

    a good, not great fighter who gets some "so called" unjust praise by some first and foremost because of his record 27 wins all by knockout and that we will never know how he could've faired in today's boxing landscape....
