    Canelo Alvarez Update

    By Gabriel F. Cordero

One source has indicated to Fightnews.com that WBC super welterweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Jose “Chepo” Reynoso met with Golden Boy Promotions to review and analyze the possible opponents. The company is making every effort to nail down Alvarez’s new opponent for September 15, but is waiting to see what happens this weekend in bouts between Erislandy Lara vs. Freddy Hernandez and Cory Spinks vs. Cornelius Bundrage for the IBF super welterweight title. There is a possibility that the event will be televised on CBS. The pay-per-view is practically ruled out.

great, lara will definitely win, and I hope k-9 wins, so he can choose from two good challengers, the particularly worthy fighter of the two being lara.

Canelo wants no part of LARA. He will pick Bundrage who is very one dimensional, and comes straight forward and uses his strengths, which are his power, and conditioning or he will pick Spinks, which is a good all around boxer, but has no power and no chin.:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke

My thoughts exactly. Both are better known fighters and less risky than Lara.

I wish GBP would move this fight to the 14th and let boxing steal the spotlight for the entire weekend.
