    He's a WW Champion.

    It's arguable that a world title constitutes the top these days.

    True but I think its the top for Bailey. Thread question is abit shitty really, could ask 'fighters with a great jab who never made it to the top' its the same sort of thing

    Bailey is a world champ. Im on about the fighters who werent greatly known or couldnt get to the top level, but had KO power

    Fought at CW & HW, the man had freakish power & ridiculously heavy hands. If you've never seen him in action have a quick look on youtube, you will be in for a treat. If he didnt have the chin of a poet he would've been something very special.

    I remember watching edison miranda when he was coming up on hbo boxing after dark and thinking man this guy is the real deal he will steam roll through everyone... ha i guess the joke was on me

    Yeah, better competition has a way of negating strengths and amplifying weaknesses.

    In a similar vein to Wayne Alexander, Richard 'Tiger' Evatt was a very big domestic puncher who never quite made it to the top. Threw some very strong bombs and wiped out most of his domestic opposition before facing a faded Junior Jones (who was still half decent to his credit) and despite knocking him down several times and hurting him with almost every big punch he threw, was eventually worn down and knocked out late on.

    Was never gonna cut it at the top, but had some serious power.
