    What the **** is larry mearchant's problem? I've never seen someone engaged in a sport who is so contemptuous of the atheletes that participate in the sport.

    And, it seems given Floyd's financial success and buisness savy that Larry Merchant was waaaay off with the "you're only quick in the ring" comment.

    They were talkin bout moving up in weight and Floyd said he's in no hurry. Larry clearly said the "You're only quick in the ring" line in reference to not moving up too fast.

    I don't think he was callin Floyd stupid.

    i think this was the defining moment in the maywearther-merchent relationship, after this incident floyd always started flipping on him.

    Nope, HBO was trying to give Floyd the avenue the to call out the bigger name fighters at the higher weights, Floyd not being seasoned, he didn't take the opportunity to further his brand, and Merchant came with the slick comment as always
